Getting a ticket is never fun. As soon as you see a police officer turn on their lights and pull up right behind you, thoughts of points on your license, the cost of the ticket and the dreadful court date go through your mind. The most obvious way to avoid a ticket is to avoid speeding altogether, but what if we told you there are certain vehicles on the road that are least likely to receive a speeding ticket?

With that in mind, we decided to sit down and come up with a list of Top 10 Least Ticketed Cars that may help you avoid the hassle of receiving a speeding ticket. However, at the end of the day, we highly recommending obeying your local traffic laws and speed limits.

Let’s get started.

Range Rover

The first one on our list may come as a surprise to some of you since the Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most luxurious and powerful suvs on the market. The engine lineup consists of nothing but V6 and supercharged V8 engines that produce up to 550 horsepower and give you all the power you need to cross that speed limit. Nonetheless, according to Insurance.com, the Range Rover is one of the least ticketed cars on the road with only 11% of drivers getting tickets. That may be because owners of the Range Rover are more into cruising down Rodeo drive rather than taking over traffic on the highway at fast speeds.

BMW 320i

The BMW 3-Series lineup consists of some very powerful sedans. Of course, if you’re going for a 425 horsepower BMW M3 or the 320 horsepower BMW 340i, you’re naturally going to dance on the line of speeding. However, there is one BMW 3-Series model that will keep you from pouncing on the throttle, and that is the 180 horsepower BMW 320i. This fuel-efficient trim-level of the BMW 3-Series allows you to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and averages an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 23/35 mpg (city/highway.) With that in mind, you’re not only saving money by avoiding speeding tickets, but you’re also saving money when you visit the gas station.

Audi A3

The Audi A3 is a bit of a surprise. This sedan is known to have spirited driving dynamics with quick acceleration and sharp handling. However, the owners of these cars tend to be city car drivers that barely hit the highway for a long trip - which could easily explain why the Audi A3 is one of the least ticketed cars to make it on our list. The 2.0 TFSI engine in the Audi A3 produces just 186 horsepower, so you’re not zipping in and out of traffic at high-speeds. It’s the perfect car to get from point A to point B in style and quality.

Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is one of the most powerful and prestigious large suvs on the market. The lineup consists of only one engine offering which is a powerful 420 horsepower V8. That’s enough power to push this giant beast confidently through highway traffic but not enough to get you a speeding ticket. Being the perfect family luxury large SUV, the chances of the Cadillac Escalade getting a ticket are very small. Not to mention, the Uber Black drivers hoping to avoid losing their 5-star rating are probably obeying all traffic laws.

Chevrolet Express

The Chevrolet Express is one of the most popular commercial vehicles and for commercial use, where obeying all traffic laws and speed limits are necessary to stay employed. The strict contingencies that commercial companies put on their driver keep them from getting speeding tickets, which in turn makes the Chevrolet Express one of the least ticketed cars on our list. Not to mention, the V6 and V8 engine lineup have less to do with performance and more to do with pulling this 5,300+ pound van around.

Cadillac ATS

The Cadillac ATS is one of the least ticketed cars on the road, which came as a bit of a surprise to us. The new Cadillac sedan is known for its quick acceleration and tight handling which urges you to push this car to its limits. However, Insurance.com reports that only 6% of ATS owners have gotten tickets. That figure is bound to stay low as the 2017 model year Cadillac ATS features Teen Driver Technology that allows parents to set speed limits for teen drivers. At the end of the day, the Cadillac ATS is still one of the most compelling sports sedans to drive in its segment.

Buick Encore

The Buick Encore is one of the most inconspicuous compact small crossovers on the market. The 138 horsepower engine under the hood makes it quite a slow car to drive. Couple that with the average driving age of a Buick driver, which is 58-years old, and the Buick Encore is one of the least ticketed cars on the road today. Only 3% of Buick Encore owners have gotten tickets, and we guess all the factors mentioned above contribute to that percentage. Starting with a price tag of just $22,990 and an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 25/33 mpg (city/highway), the Buick Encore is saving you money in other places than digging into your account for a speeding ticket.

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic is one of America’s favorite compact sedans. It is a reliable, quality built, and a fun-to-drive sedan. However, it leaves something to be desired when it comes to performance. Recently, the Honda Civic lineup has added a new SI hatchback model, and for the first time in the United States, the 306 Honda Civic Type R is hitting the roads. The base model is still the top-selling compact sedan in the country and with its 158 horsepower engine, but it isn’t tearing up the streets with performance. The Honda Civic has become the go to car for the daily commuter and with that in mind, they aren’t trying to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds.

Acura ILX

The Acura ILX is one of the few small luxury cars that offer the most bang for your buck. However, with its 201 horsepower engine, the Acura ILX is one of the slower vehicles in the segment which could very well be the reason why this is one of the least ticketed cars on the road. Also contributing to keeping authorities from chasing the Acura ILX is its somewhat subtle styling that takes away the thought of a sports or luxury car. We continue to be big fans of the Acura ILX and with a starting price tag of $27,990, it will save you money everywhere rather than adding points to your license or increasing your insurance premiums.

Lexus IS

The Lexus IS may be another surprise on this list. With its aggressive and luxurious exterior, you would think that this catches the attention of police officers that are hiding behind bushes. Top that off with a revamped engine lineup with the IS200t and the IS300, and the 2017 Lexus IS is one of the most engaging sports sedans on the market. However, only 3% of owners have received tickets, and many are saying it's because the IS isn’t as thrilling of a luxury sports sedan as compared to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. That could very well be the reason that owners of the Lexus IS aren’t out there looking to hit the left lane and take over cars on the highway.
