While part of it’s concern for public image, call me naïve but I like to think it’s out of their concern for the world around us too. Why else would billionaire Richard Branson chill in the back of a Chevrolet Equinox?

Paris Hilton recently bought a GMC Yukon Hybrid, John Kerry just traded-in for a Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, Will Ferrell has been seen in a Lexus RX 400h, Arnold Schwarzenegger keeps a BioDiesel Hummer H1 at the ready (in case Oregon invades from the north), and if you watched Super Bowl XLII you know Eli Manning is getting the first Cadillac Escalade Hybrid in July.

Why does Snoop Dogg look so mad? Perhaps no one told him that the Chevrolet Volt is a green car because of its impact on the environment (and has nothing to do with his other green passion...uh, horticulture). 

On second thought, I bet Snoop really does dig hybrid-electric vehicles and is annoyed (like me) that the Volt isn’t for sale yet.

After months and months of delay, the all-electric Tesla Roadster is finally shipping to customers, and the pre-orders read like the guest list to a charity event at the Playboy Mansion: George Clooney, Jay Leno, Matt Damon, Anthony Kiedis, Will.i.am, and Brad Pitt just to name a few.

All 650 of the first run of Tesla Roadsters are spoken for, but check out the upcoming Fisker Karma instead, maybe you can get on the list early.

Actually it’s an OZOcar, New York’s first eco-luxury private car service, used by the like of Sarah Jessica Parker (pitcured), Rachael Ray, and Blythe Danner. Sitting in the back of a tinted-out Ford Excursion is comfortable and all, but how comfortable will you feel when polar ice caps melt and flood your city? Actually, everyone knows global warming is a sham. (Relax earth warrior, I’m kidding.)

Not in the mood for a private car service? These days, with a little patience you’re bound to find a Ford Escape Hybrid or Nissan Altima Hybrid taxi trolling the streets of NY.

In your UK garage you have an Audi A8, an Audi Q7, and a Range Rover…Guy Ritchie you might not be the darling of Earth Day revelers everywhere, but the fact that you still make an effort to kick it bike-style despite the serious whip collection is respectable. Or maybe you're just trying to save some money.

Sure, I love biking, but I love the Audi Q7 too, and it will be shipping to the US soon with a clean-burning diesel engine for much-improved gas-mileage.
