New Car Rebates and Incentives: March 20, 2014

March is almost over, but there are still several rebates and incentives on new cars and new trucks worth checking out at your local dealer.  Our list this week starts out with a $6,000 cash back offer on the 2014 Ford Focus Electric compact hatchback, followed by the 2013 GMC Terrain compact SUV and its available zero percent financing or $1,500 in cash back.  The 2014 Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan features the choice between 0.0% financing or $3,500 in cash back, while the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette coupe presents zero percent financing or $3,000 in factory cash rebates.  Finally, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note subcompact hatchback provides zero percent financing plus $500 in cash back, or $1,000 in total cash back.

2014 Ford Focus Electric

The 2014 Ford Focus Electric is the battery-powered version of the Blue Oval's popular compact hatchback.  There's a bit of a price to pay for going with the Ford Focus Electric's gas-free drivetrain, as total cargo space shrinks by roughly 10 cubic feet due to the presence of the battery pack, leaving a total of 33.9 cubes for toting oversized items.

The 2014 Ford Focus Electric is motivated by an electric motor that produces 143 horsepower.  The vehicle takes roughly four hours to fully charge from empty when using a 240-volt home charging station, and it offers 76 miles of driving on a topped-up battery.

2013 GMC Terrain

The 2013 GMC Terrain provides compact SUV shoppers with a premium family option that can seat up to five passengers as well as transport 63.7 cubic feet of cargo space.  The GMC Terrain Denali - the top-of-the-line luxury model - throws in numerous styling changes as well as lush interior features to further tempt potential buyers.

The 2013 GMC Terrain is initially outfitted with a 182 horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine.  Also capable of generating 172 lb-ft of torque, this unit returns fuel mileage of 20-mpg city and 29-mpg highway.  Stepping up to the Terrain's available 3.6-liter V-6 introduces 301 horses and 272 lb-ft of torque to the mix.  Both engines can be paired with optional all-wheel drive, and a six-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the board.

2014 Chrysler 200

The 2014 Chrysler 200 is a mid-size sedan that is on the verge of being replaced with an all-new model.  That being said, there's decent value to be had in this comfortable family cruiser for those not interested in driving the latest and greatest.

The 2014 Chrysler 200's entry-level engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 173 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque.  It's also possible to order the 200 with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that offers up 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.  Of the two, the four-cylinder delivers the most impressive fuel mileage, checking in at 20-mpg around town and 31-mpg on the highway.  All versions of the Chrysler sedan come with a six-speed automatic transmission.

2013 Chevrolet Corvette

The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most popular sports cars on the market due to its combination of affordable V-8 power with world-class handling and style.  The Chevrolet Corvette is available in a startling array of editions, including the track-focused Z06 and the street-oriented Grand Sport.

The base 2013 Chevrolet Corvette features a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that is good for 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque, managed by either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.  60-mph arrives in a scant 4.5 seconds from behind the wheel of the Corvette coupe, which also turns in 16-mpg in city driving and 26-mpg during highway cruising.

2014 Nissan Versa Note

The 2014 Nissan Versa Note is an all-new subcompact hatchback that provides exceptional interior room despite its small size.  The inexpensive Nissan Versa Note delivers a very useful 38.3 cubic feet of total cargo space with the rear row folded forward. 

The 2014 Nissan Versa Note comes exclusively with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine.  Capable of producing 109 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque, this motor can be shifted via a five-speed manual (base trim) or a continuously-variable automatic.  The latter makes possible fuel mileage of 31-mpg in stop and go driving and 40-mpg on the highway.
