Looking for the ultimate ride to hit the links? The best cars for golfers have plenty of room to accommodate a foursome and a cavernous trunk to carry their clubs. Needless to say, we avoided the compacts. These larger sedans provide the space they need to stretch out their legs after a long day out on the links. Golf is best played in fours. While station wagons are extremely well suited for golf outings, we focused exclusively on sedans in this article. We’ll take a look at the best wagons, SUVs, and crossovers for golfers in a subsequent piece. Auto manufacturers love to sponsor golf events. The IEG Sponsorship Report states that the automotive sector is “4.4 times more likely to sponsor golf than the average of all sponsors.” With that in mind, we’ve included information on each manufacturer's involvement with the sport.

2016 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo

The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo may not be one of the most popular cars for golfers, but it’s surely one of the best suited for the task. The Gran Turismo’s fastback roofline allows for more interior space than the 5 Series sedan (although slightly less cargo capacity). While we’d prefer a wagon, BMW doesn’t offer the 5 Series wagon (aka the Saloon) here in the States. There’s no excuse to be late for tee time with the range-topping all-wheel drive 550i xDrive Grand Turismo’s 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8’s 445 horsepower on tap. The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo’s cargo capacity is a generous 17.7 cubic feet. BMW is the largest corporate golf sponsor worldwide, according to the IEG Sponsorship Report.
