In 1973 a non-factory backed NART Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona came in second overall in the 24 Hour race, winning the GT+2000 class.

The Porsche 993 RSR was a full blown race car and was built from one of the last air cooled endurance racers from the builder of backwards engineered German sports cars.

The Lola B2K-40 Nissan ran in the classic endurance race from 2001 thru 2003 in the SR2 class for sports racing prototypes, finishing in 7th overall and winning its division before bowing out to the Daytona Prototypes.

BMW is no stranger to motorsport competition, however when the straight six powered E46 M3s were being outgunned by the Porsches competing in Grand Am's GT category, the Bavarian automaker decided to shoehorn a V8 under the hood of the BMW E46 M3 GTR.  Which effectively closed the gap.

Despite this race cars rather extreme appearance, the Chevrolet Dekon Monza won back to back IMSA Camel GT Championships thanks to a Corvette sourced V8 under the hood.

The Chevrolet Intrepid RM-1 was the bowties weapon of choice in the early '90s for IMSA GT Championship competition.

While this is only a replica of the car that Hurley Haywood and Peter Gregg took to victory lane at the 1973 24 Hour race at Daytona, none of the beauty has been lost on this particular Porsche 911 Carrera RSR.

In 2003 the #43 Porsche 996 GT3-RS rocked a very unique split paint scheme that showed off the classic red on white stripe of Brumos Racing as well as an eye catching pink Cars theme.

While NASCAR legen Richard Petty runs his own driving experience at Disney World in Orlando, FL; his son Kyle Petty campaigned the Pixar sponsored racecar at the 24 Hours of Daytona that year.
