BMW Adaptive Drive is BMW's chassis control system. It combines the Electronic Damper Control (EDC) and Dynamic Drive systems to increase both ride comfort and agility. Sensors in the car monitor vehicle speed, steering wheel position, and the various forces on the car, and then send this data to the Adaptive Drive system, which uses it to quickly adjust the stabilizers and dampers. The system is able to adjust each wheel independently to reduce body roll, increase handling and performance, and reduce stopping distances. If you aren't in a sporty mood, the system allows you to choose a comfort mode, where it works to improve ride comfort, particularly on uneven roads.
