audi MMI interface
The Audi Multi-Media Interface (or Audi MMI) is a centralized controller for the onboard infotainment system, including the radio, navigation, and telephone (or mobile phone). Menus can be navigated by rotating the main knob and then pushing it down it to select options or submenus. There are also other buttons surrounding the main controller, including individual buttons to get you directly to commonly used items like radio or navigation.
Depending on the vehicle, the MMI system can also be used to control the car's setup, including the climate control system, central locking configuration, and suspension modes. Some versions of MMI also include a voice recognition system to allow you to enter information such as navigation destinations via voice command. Some cars also include the MMI touch pad, a small touch-sensitive area beside the main MMI controller that allows you to use a finger to spell out destinations.
