Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Despite Consumer Reports generally negative rating, my XC-90 has earned its license plate (XTC90). Since picking it up at the factory in May 2004, we've driven it in all conditions without major problems. Aside from a recalled leaking fuelpump, the only issues have been unexpected dumbshit poor-design ones i.e., gearshift lever jammed in park, sunroof drains plugged up and overflowed inside the cabin and alarm system malfunctioned in the middle of the night. Cons: Nav sysyem not up to the latest from Ford, etc
My 2008 Volvo XC-90 V-8 is a great car. Nobody makes more comfortable seats than Volvo. The vehicle is roomy, comfortable & solid. It handles well for an SUV & has decent performance. I recently averaged 25 mpg on a 600 mile trip. This is our 4th Volvo & we are never disappointed.Pros: Center booster seat.
Cons: Our cup holder always breaks down.
Advice: Have fun.
This drives very nice. Volvo took us to Nazarateh Race track and it was fun.Pros: Heated Seats
Cons: Second Row difficult to move and collapse
Advice: Rent one for a week if possible before buying.
I have had this car in for service more times than any other vehicle I have ever owned. Brakes squeeked (fixed), brake pump (replaced), computer chip (replaced), recall part (replaced). We are still working on another squeek that they can't seem to find the problem. We feel safe in the car and it fits my three kids fine. The second row seats are hard to move forward and collapse. Difficult for an 8 & 6 year old to get in the third row. Design not great and quality is not worth the money.Pros: Looks
Cons: Quality and engineering
Advice: Don't waste your money - I should have bought the Acrura
I bought mine with the DVD player...didn't work when I tried to turn it on. I was told that I have to use the remote control. When I asked why the buttons on the DVD player don't function, the technician at the dealership just shrugged. Wow!!! ...and that's not the worst of it, just the most ridiculous!!!
