Pros: Seats are comfortable
Cons: Cheap steering wheel doesn't match the leather interior
Advice: Load it up
The V40 has plenty of 'Bang for the Buck'. Great leather interior with comfortable seats, CD stereo, nice trim, interior and exterior design, looks high quality (except for the cheap steering wheel). More of a sporty ride than a luxury ride. Could be a little more quiet (too much wind and road noise into the cabin). It has the feel of a European sport wagon, not a luxury sedan. The 1.9T has plenty of power and the transmission is smooth. The turbo is quiet and smooth without any lag or boost whiplash. Feels like a nice 6 cyl. If it is as reliable as my 95 Subaru legacy wagon has been, my 2002 V40 with premium plus and winter package will be a great buy for $25.5K. Two wagons, my god, I am a nerd!!!!Pros: Driving position is very comfortable
Cons: Entering the drivers seat is somewhat cumbersome
Advice: Test drive the same car that you are buyng.
The car is very responsive, good power passing and switching lanes, quiet, excellent brakes, good visibility, controls are easy to get used to.The stereo system has a great sound.Going up steep hills and keeping up the speed was not a problem. In general I am very satisfied with my (2002) V40.
