Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Cargo space.
Cons: Lack of horsepower
Advice: Its not worth 40+K shop around for a better SUV.Its a hulk without the muscle. Takes a while to pickup from dead stop to 60. The dashboard is very poorly done, with lot of space taken for the cd changer. No space for sun glasses. Sun roof is way over your head and only back passenger can see it. The middle person in the back has no leg room space, unless you detach the front box underneath the arm rest. The only impressive part is the cargo space. Provided you take a course in how to fold all those seats. Over all bad experience with volvo.
Pros: The overall ride, the premium stereo (DB2), safety, and fun to drive.
Cons: Not enough storage space, the wait, and the price.
Advice: Definitely buy it, if you have the time and the money. At first, I didn't think much about this car mainly considering it's a Volvo, but then it started to get awards. So, I decided to take it for a test drive. I was very pleased with it, in every aspect of it. The ride was very smooth, solid, and quiet, the power was good (even though, the competition has more), brakes handled well, and the initial built quality seems to be in line with Volvo and other premium auto makers. The best part is that it was fun to drive.
Cons: Premium to buy
Advice: Shop around or wait a year.I was very comfortable in this car. It drove well. I was suprised at he power it has, but still would like more. The middle seat would not open, the sales guy was trying to show us a child seat or something, but it was broken. Was told the price was $2500 over MSRP. I think this is an awesome vehicle and the would have purchased except for the premium over MSRP.
Pros: Nice looking
Advice: If you drive alot consider a more comfortable carWhen I got into the drivers seat I was disappointed in the lack of headroom. I am a tall woman, 5'11', who drives kids around alot and the comfort feature is very important to me. The car had good pick up but it was loud. Handled really well around corners, highway etc.
Advice: hurry this will be one hot vehicleVery nice composed ride. Truly feels like a sedan not an SUV. After having owned a Lexus and an Olds Bravada, this is one truly well thought out vehicle.
Cons: Noise under the front end.
Advice: You might want to wait until the after the first year models have past the test. They will be less expensive as well. One more thing just incase you have to have one. Don't leave anything out. All the options are cool and you'll use them.you diffentely want the T6 for the power. This cross over vehicle is nice for those new mommys who really don't want to look like they are new mommys. Safest car in the world. The sound could be a little better. Overall: It drives like a volvo XC. Nice, but the under body is noisy.
Pros: T6 Engine
Cons: 3rd seat was functional, but a little cramped.
Advice: Order NOW as there seems to be a waiting list at all of the dealerships near us.Volvo has really created a perfect sport utility vehicle with the XC90. The model that we looked at had the T6 engine and it was certainly fun to drive. The day that we test drove the XC90 it was snowing and we were very pleased with the way the vehicle handled. The only downside is availability as the dealer indicated that we would not be able to buy one for 2 more months!
