    2005 Volvo S40 - 2.4i M FWD

    Pros: the exterior

Cons: the center console has NO convenience features (ie.: cointray)

Advice: don't decide without getting quotes on different cars from your insurance agent.

I debated between the Acura TSX and the Volvo S40. The Acura looked great on the inside and boring on the outside. The Volvo looked great on the outside and was inconvenient on the inside. I decided on the Volvo (7/30/05) because they are known for safety, had my car for 3 days and the A/C on the driver's side went bad. I am still wondering if I made the right choice...

    2005 Volvo S60 - 2.5T A FWD

    Pros: Seats

    Cons: Back seats

Advice: If this vehicle is going to be transporting kids consider the S80.

We have had these vehicles since Dec 2004 and are becoming very familiar with the service department. With the s60 the problems that we are running into are with the windows. My household also owns the XC90 which is another issue by it self. As far as the services being rendered for a luxury vehicle I thought the service would have been better than what is being recieved at the moment.

    2005 Volvo S60 - R M AWD

    Pros: Blue display.

    Cons: Too many to list.

Advice: Choose a vehicle that has higher reliability.

I am shocked more people have not complained about this vehicle. I have had nothing but problems. The vehicle is always in the service center. Bad brakes, bad six speed transmission, faulty electronics, burning of oil, and much more. The appearance is nice, but the quality is very poor.

    2005 Volvo V50 - T5 M FWD

Pros: The Navigation System, handling, smooth, fun to drive.

    Cons: Haven't found anything negative

Advice: Check it out by taking it on a half-day on-the-road test drive. I did. Am very pleased!

Drove my 2005 V50 in Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland; in rough roads, heavy rain conditions, snow. Performed excellently, fun to drive! Can't wait to get it. Bought it on the European purchase program. Put in 4800 miles.

    2005 Volvo V50 - T5 M FWD

    Pros: EVERYTHING

Cons: no arm rest for the driver :-(

    Advice: Buy it!!!

Oh what odes can I sing to my lovely car ? :) I can say that I've had it since july 2004, and loving every single minute of it!!! My husband is so jealous of me that he wants to buy himself a V50 too :) For us the car is super comfortable, we have 2 toddlers and the back is perfect for them as the car comes with built in children seats and well a great dvd system that they both can enjoy. The driver and passanger area's comfort are unprescedented in comfort and style, we have heated seats and individual heater controls (love it)! The leather seats are super nice and very easy to clean. I don't know much about the engine and other specifications, but I know from driving it for almost a year that the car is really fast! And I love driving fast and it handles great on corners and ice and in rain!

    2005 Volvo S40 - T5 M FWD

    Pros: the design

Cons: leg room in the back

Advice: get the T5 MANUAL with body trim

I was stationed down range in Iraq/Kuwait and was looking for a car to buy when i returned. I went to the Volvo dealership in Germany and told the sales rep to order me the T5. I received my car a few days ago and I love the performance it has. It is the manual six speed with amazing takeoff power. I was driving on the autobahn in speeds up to 100mph, because it is new i didn't want to hurt the engine. It drove smooth with those 17inch wheels from Bamberg to Velseck. The car is a performer.

    2005 Volvo S40 - M AWD

    Pros: Powerful, economical engine.

    Cons: Trunk is slightly smaller.

Advice: Drive both the 2.4i and T5 models.

I *knew* I was going to buy a VW Passat. My Mazda 626 was all but finished and I had been looking at VW's for about 5 years. I looked and looked for a 6-cylinder, manual transmission and was disappointed everywhere I went. One day, I stopped in at the local Volvo dealership to see what they had. In short, I test drove the S40 T5 AWD with a 6-speed manual transmission and bought it on the spot. It is, without a doubt, the most enjoyable driving car I've ever owned and the creature comforts, all-around performance and price make it unbeatable. The handling is tight yet comfortable, the engine powerful yet quiet and cabin luxurious yet unpretentious. It is, simply, a gorgeous, fun and beautifully built vehicle. Forget the VW, Audi and Acura sedans - - - they can't hold a candle to this one. I would buy another in a second without hesitation.
