Hate Volvo's service department
Pros: Stereo system
Cons: Having the car serviced
I will never buy another Volvo because of the awful service department. The guys at Bergeron Volvo have the worst service department hands down. The car itself is sleek, sexy and safe. I'm currently car shopping, but a Volvo is no longer an option for me.good car, effective for long distance taveling
Pros: good handling
Cons: issues with rain and electrical problems
liked the car alot, until it gave a few problems in major rainstorms, but that is to be expected. Traveled alot with some llong distances, volvo gave a clean ride the whole way.Headache
You should consider a Volvo if you enjoy paying the pricey dealer mark ups for fixes and repairs. I have had mine in the shop literally 12 times since April due to issues causing my fan to burn out. I replaced the fan in April, and have replaced it 3 times in 2 weeks. The car has almost caught fire 2 of those times, and the dealer told me that because they didn't put the fan it, that is the problem. BS it is the same fan that Volvo would use, but they're mad that I didn't pay twice as much for them to do it. Now, even though last week when I took it in 2x in 3 days & BOTH times they said they fixed the problem, they are charging me almost 700 dollars to replace the fan AGAIN-so this will be the 5th fan this car has had in less than 3 months!!!!!!! I intend to pick the car up from Volvo & drive to another dealer & trade it-SAME day. Who wants a car that tries to catch fire every 2-3 days? And then get to pay $85 to tow it back just to pay an additional $700 to not have the problem fixed!Pros: style
Cons: faux wood
Advice: dealers will deal. shop around.
my wife wanted a volvo and i was leaning twards a c class mercedes. but looking at price/standard features/performacne, the s40 won hands down. it's a great looking car (yes i know volvo = boxy) pleanty of safty and luxury features. my wife loves it and i can't complain about the entire purchase (price/dealership/delivery)Pros: Too many to list. Sexy looking car and yet I feel completely engulfed in safety when slipping into the drivers seat.
Cons: Still trying to adjust to the turbo upon accelerating when making a turn.
Advice: You will not be sorry with your purchase.
Lots of pep. Hugs and grips the road. I definitely feel that I am in control. Rides smooth. Responsive. Comfortable. I find myself making excuses to drive somewhere! Within a couple of days of having my Volvo, I found myself thinking that so far, I would get another Volvo...and that opinion has not changed. My father is a car man and at six feet, two inches, even he was impressed with the room he had - more then his Lincoln. Simply, it is a nice ride in a sporty looking car. I can not stop staring at it!Pros: reliability and comfort
Cons: style, safety and reliability
Advice: BUY at least ONE
This car for the price is Great, responsive, reliable, comfortable, and the out of my choices. Service, if any is wonderful, I boughtt this one new and cannot wait for a new 2007. Ther is no other in the price class that is so remarkably 'perfect'Pros: maneuverabiliy in traffic, great accelleration with the turbo
Cons: cornering not as smooth and tight as I'd like
Advice: deserves a test drive comparison with it's competitors.....I never considered or gave a thought to Volvo until I test drove one out of curiosity at the last minute one day.
Fun to drive, handled well....the T5 is suprisingly comparable to its German and Japanese competitors
