Pros: The quality is fantastic for the price.
Cons: Limited storage areas in the cabin
Advice: Buy one now!I just bought the Golf 3 days ago, and haven't actually driven it much, so these are my first impressions. It's a blast! The engine is powerful and quiet (but not broken in yet, so I've been sort of easy on it), the handling is very good (new tires, not taking it to the limit yet), considering it's fairly soft suspension, with nice feedback from the steering wheel. It doesn't have any numbness common to assisted systems. The shifter is sweet. Considering that this is an $18,000 car (including destination charge) I am beyond impressed. I could go on and on about the great features- quick and really solid, fantastic Recaro style seats that hug me perfectly (adjustable lumbar support on both sides) with very nice fabric, the smooth quiet ride with very good handling, the feeling of complete stability at 100+ speeds. It's got the interior of a much more expensive vehicle. And personally I think the exterior is very attractive, while the hatch makes it really versatile. Try it, you'll like it. Good job VW!
Pros: Smooth and quiet driving sedan
Cons: headlights not on stalk
Advice: shop around I experienced $2Shopped hard for this car. Looked at Civic LX, Mazda 3, Ford Fusion. Toyota Carolla. Jetta interior superior to all. Performace wise maybe 2nd to Mazda in accelaration, but Jetta has smoothest driving and handling. Tiptronic transmission is a blast! but will cost you mpg. I get about 24 mpg doing mostly city driving over first 3,000 miles. Love the feel and handling. Love the vtex seats.
Pros: Touch screen Radio/Media console
Cons: No dual power outlets
Advice: If you can save any appreciable money by purchasing this vehiclePurchased vehicle based on sight, price and gas mileage to economize from 06 V8 Touareg. No test drive. Everything about the car says much bang for the buck. Without being to technical, the car responds well to both city and freeway driving as far as acceleration is concerned; albeit w/what is called 'some turbo lag'! The ride is smooth and comfortable for a compact car; with the driver's seat snuggling you in for your driving excursions. I look for reasons to drive this car anywhere/anytime!! All interior features are top notch highlighted by the touch screen Radio/Media console. While not as fancy as a $50k Touareg, this car is well worth any sacrifices in amenities to gain financial amenities in car note, gas prices and scheduled maintenance!!!!
Pros: I like the entire vehicle.
Cons: the radio knob.
Advice: Shop around and do your car homeworkThis vehicle has the same motor as the Volkswagen CC. The Tiguan was smooth as I punched the gas. Feeling that turbo kick in and assist in extra power raised my brow to a mmmmm. The motor runs like a very well oiled machine. The brakes have a good response and the thing will stop on a dime. The interior is very comfortable. The seats are easy to change positions. So I bought one...
Pros: 40+ MPG autostick
Cons: no awd
Advice: buy it. german quility, excellant MPGI had a 2003 Jetta and traded on new 2009 TDI. Bigger, faster, and a avg. MPG of 42.6 over 3 months. WOW.
Pros: the leaking moonroof cause you always got a free shower
Cons: the color
Advice: i pray that you will ride a bike before you drive this carthis car began to fall apart about a month after we got it and it began a cycle of one thing after another some how i was dumb when the dealer wanted us to trade it in on a 2005 saying that 2004 was just a bad year well how wrong was he cause the 05 was way worse then the 04 a my husband just sold it for what we could get out of it about a 1/4th of what we paid for the thing
Cons: Electrical Problems
Advice: Make sure you have a reputable VW dealership.....The test drive was great - I was acutally given the car for the afternoon and fell in love with it! After I go the car home, there was a ticking noise in the dash...toook it into the dealership only to be faced with the question 'does it only make this noise when you use your turn signal'? That should have been a sign for me to run. After 4 trips to the dealership, they still cannot fix the problem. Since they are the only dealership in town (next one is 300 miles away) they are the end of the line. I love my car and have had no other problems with it (knock on wood) but for the price I paid and the research I did, I should have looked into the dealer ratings first....
