Smooth ride with great gas mileage. Low profile means not a lot of head room. Interior and ample standard options on the sport model are a plus.
One of the better cars out there, I like the Sport and manual shifting and the gas saving on the highway. The Nav system and the bluetooth is great. Only issue I have is no separate button to disable traction control. In the winter you want that at times. Can't remove the fuse to disable it as its tied into the ABS. Stupid idea. But overall great car, just don't get it stuck in snow.
IS A GREAT CAR AND COMFORTABLE!

I wanted the clean diesel to be greener & use less fuel. On the interstate at 70-75 I get around 50 mpg I drove the car for months in congested stop & go traffic, my average mileage ran between 32 to 34 miles a gallon. On rough roads it can be a little loud, but if I am listening to stock sound system, which sounds great, I do not notice it even at low volumes. The motor has a lot more get up and go than I was expecting from a diesel and it handles great in curves. I like it a lot!!
As Volkswagens go, this one has been relatively trouble-free. The most expensive out-of-pocket repair I've experienced in 8 years was $1400 (build-up in 2 of the engine cylinders). Prior to that, there was recall item covered under warranty. Beyond those items, maintenance hasn't been too pricey. The car is comfortable, performs well in the city and on the highway and is good on gas. Big trunk + fold-down rear seats = tons of carrying capacity when needed.
