    2005 Volvo V50 - M AWD

    Pros: The styling

    Cons: Reliability

Advice: Test drive with big shoes on

I have a feeling i just got a 'lemon' but i am very unhappy with my V50. My wife was pregnant and we decided to trade in the VW Golf for a safe and reliable family car. We loved the styling and was very impressed with the interior of the car. We have had the car for just under a year and less than 5000 miles and its been to the shop four times now. Three times i just died in my driveway and we had to get it towed to the dealer. The most recent was because the defroster stopped working during the worst rainstorm. Some other things to note. If anyone has a shoe size greater than 12, forget about wearing shoes while driving. I have a size 13 and i have to take my right shoe off if i drive otherwise my foot gets stuck between the break and the gas pedal. The visibility is also poor in the car. Being that its so solid, everything is thick, so its hard to see. Again, i just might have gotten unlucky with my v50

    2004 Volvo XC70 - Base

Pros: Too many to list..probably the traction control and safety features

Cons: I wish it got a few more miles to the gallon..does well for it's size though 18/23

Advice: A must drive by all means!!

I have owned my 2003 XC70 Cross Country for 31,000 wonderful miles. I can actually say that this is the best 'all around' vehicle I have ever owned. Minor adjustments have been addressed under the 5 year/ 50,000 mile warranty, however nothing major has occured. It still smells like new leather inside and drives like a dream on and off the highway. We most like the handling stability in rain and snow. A special 'winter mode' on the transmission does not allow the wheels to break traction during initial acceleration..very nice! If you are shopping for a luxury car or an SUV, do not pass up test driving the Volvo XC70,it is an impressive luxury wagon with plenty of performance and offroad capability ....in a nut shell...JUST DRIVE IT!!

    2005 Volvo V50 - 2.4i A FWD

    Pros: Stereo system

    Cons: back seats

    Advice: Buy it without regret....

I have 15000 miles in my v50. It's a great machine. I bought it in Sept 2004 and I enjoy it every time, It feels new every day. It has lots of room in the back, beautiful interior design, good power and overall road handling. I like the key design. Tight seats in the back is the only drawback. I love this car.

    2005 Volvo V50 - T5 M FWD

Pros: The Navigation System, handling, smooth, fun to drive.

    Cons: Haven't found anything negative

Advice: Check it out by taking it on a half-day on-the-road test drive. I did. Am very pleased!

Drove my 2005 V50 in Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland; in rough roads, heavy rain conditions, snow. Performed excellently, fun to drive! Can't wait to get it. Bought it on the European purchase program. Put in 4800 miles.

    2004 Volvo V70 - 2.5T A FWD

    Pros: road manners

Cons: cup holders and lack of space for cell phone package

Advice: opt for the 2.5T engine package w/auto transmission

I purchased 10/2003 and after 23000 miles, it's still an enjoyable automobile. The 2.5T with sport package provides quick acceleration, lots of low end torque, great handling and excellent fuel mileage. My wish: Volvo should have offered factory options for XM radio, GPS nav, and integrated cell phone.

    2005 Volvo V50 - T5 M FWD

    Pros: EVERYTHING

Cons: no arm rest for the driver :-(

    Advice: Buy it!!!

Oh what odes can I sing to my lovely car ? :) I can say that I've had it since july 2004, and loving every single minute of it!!! My husband is so jealous of me that he wants to buy himself a V50 too :) For us the car is super comfortable, we have 2 toddlers and the back is perfect for them as the car comes with built in children seats and well a great dvd system that they both can enjoy. The driver and passanger area's comfort are unprescedented in comfort and style, we have heated seats and individual heater controls (love it)! The leather seats are super nice and very easy to clean. I don't know much about the engine and other specifications, but I know from driving it for almost a year that the car is really fast! And I love driving fast and it handles great on corners and ice and in rain!

    2005 Volvo V50 - T5 M FWD

Pros: Turbo 5 tied to the geartronic AT

    Cons: available color selection

    Advice: This is a *buy*!!

Excellent handling & superior acceleration/braking. Outstanding fit/finish/qiuality of materials used. Terrific as a daily commuter in the Wash. DC traffic h*ll and fun to take out for weekend trips on the back roads :) Only complaint is the back seats are a bit of a tight fit for our teenagers (+6', most of it in legs), but everything else is superb. With over 7500 miles in the last 3 months, I've enjoyed every moment in it.
