Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Love the interior, roomy and comfortable. But the ride and handling are awful. Went from a Lincoln to this Toyota Highlander and the difference was felt immediately. Won't buy another one.
Close to a perfect vehicle - nothing more to say!
It's great
Pros: mileage
Enjoy my Highlander, no problems, only great performanceDisappointment plus
Pros: gas mileage, excellent acceleration from a standstill.
Cons: ride, road noise, headrests, side windows fog too easily, cloth seats, too much body plastic, transmission
I was expecting a little more after reading the reviews in various magazines and after owning a 1998 Sienna, which I loved. The Hylander I purchased is a 4-cylinder, 6 speed, with a third row bench seat. No bells or whistles. Pretty much stock. Diappointments - transmission does not shift smoothly, the ride is rough, the headrests are too far forward, the road noise is atrocious, too much plastic, driver's seat cloth wrinkled and stretched, weak A/C, side windows fog up too easily, and the original tires wore out (cupping) under 25,000 miles.Great car
Pros: rides nice
Cons: blind spot when backing up
Great car..regretted not getting darker interior..was not available on the 'lot' when initially purchased..no exceptional 'extras'.Pros: visability
Cons: roof racks hard to clear snow in the winter
visability is great...4 cyl. but has good pick upGreat SUV
Pros: Really fun to drive.
Cons: In town gas milage could be better.
Toyota hit the mark when they upgraded the Highlander. The ride is excelant, plenty of room, good gas milage for a SUV. We drive to Florida from SC to visit family and always are not tired from the drive, even after 8 hours and 450 miles. The drivers seat has plenty od adjustments to find your comfort position.
