Cons: Blind spots
Advice: all around the pros heavily out weigh the consRight when I picked it up I had to find out if it is fast as it looks. This is by far the fastest 4-cyclinder I have test drived. Handles like a dream and still gets better gas mileage then any camaro or mustang. I have people starring all the time when I am driving by...guys the LADIES love the car :) Keep it in the high rpms and you will compete with any stock 6 or 8. Not to mention the look on the faces when I take them when they talk all the trash becaus
Pros: The stares I get when I drive it from others.
Cons: The worst feature about this car would be the back seat, but in my case its only been used about 3 times.
Advice: I love my car, within less then 24 hours I'll admit I recieved my first speeding ticket, but Icouldnt help it. The handleing is awesome, the only thing I regret is not being about to get a manual, nonetheless, its still fast.Definately test drive, its what sold me my car.
Pros: The Action Package
Cons: The fact that most white trash calls it a rice burner.
Advice: Get the Action Package it looks great. If you can't drive a stick LEARNThis is the best handeling car I have ever owned. The bucket seats do not let me slide at all when diving into a corner. The suspention is tuned perfectly and the car gets almost no body role. The Celica is very predictable and I always know how it is going to react. The engine gets good power but I have to keep it reving high to compensate for the lack of low end tourqe. The Action Package is an awsome looking dealer option and it only adds TRD quality parts to my car. The interior is small but very well laid out. I can reach the stereo, heat, and window controls within 6' of my shifter. If you don't drive a manual trans you need to get your suv out of my way. When looking for a car I also test drove a rsx, civic, and 350z. The Celica was by far the best performer, but it could use a bit more power (I am going to instal a Turbo that will solve this problem) I did not waste my time looking at the unreliable uaw junk from detriot. After owning this car for 30 mounths with no problems I would defently recamend it to anyone who wants an amazing driving experience.
Cons: back seat too small
Advice: don't expect to drive your friends around in it if they are tallFun to drive. Handles very well.
Pros: Power, 6-speed overdrive manual, smooth, not bad gas mileage.
Cons: Needs more back seat leg room and a turbocharger for more torque and better gas mileage.
Advice: You can settle for the 2003 GT-S or wait and see if the 2004 has a turbocharger and more back seat leg room.I thoroughly checked the 2003 Celica GT-S. It has a lot of h.p. for a high-performance compact! And it has good acceleration with a 6-speed overdrive manual and gets good gas mileage. Plus, it rides smooth. It has plenty of features. It has plenty of front seat room. But the back seat needs more leg room. And it needs more torque and a little better gas mileage. It can only be accomplished by adding a turbocharger, rather than just turning up the h.p. on the engine. So, while it is a good high-performance compact, it is not great. I have notified Toyota about these problems. So, hopefully, they will be corrected for the 2004's.
Pros: standard transmission
Advice: none yetwould love to!!
Cons: Needs lumbar support. And watch out for steep driveway aprons.
Advice: Way fun to drive! Get the manual tranny.Blows away the competition in value, quality, and driving experience... with no compromises. Good balance between high performance and economy. I get 31/35 (city/hwy) mpg on regular gas, far above the EPA rating. A/C penalty is ONE mpg! On the freeways it practically drives itself -- or I should say 'flies' itself; on back roads it handles perfectly and with confidence. Lots of power and responsive handling. Excellent gear ratio and it never feels like the engine is working hard. It's as much fun as the 2-seater sports cars, but with a totally smooth ride. I've taken 3 trips of 2000+ miles in the last 4 months; just don't want to get out of this car!... Inside the ergonomics are great, everything's laid out right where you want them to be. Incredible cabin space for its size, and remarkably comfortable. Also has an excellent sound system and handy storage places for small items. With the roof and windows open it's like riding a convertible with none of the disadvantages. Thought I had a blind spot on the passenger side till I experimented with the sideview mirror. After that, I've got perfect 360-degree views while on the road... Post-modern styling turns heads wherever I go. Classy but not ostentatious, the way it looks is the way it feels to drive. I was surprised by the cargo space. It's got a roomier trunk than my Dad's big Chrysler - even before putting down the rear seatbacks!... Minor complaint: Sight-lines take getting used to: can't see the front end or the rear end when parallel parking. Small price to pay considering everything this car has going for it. And you'll get used to it pretty quickly... Get it fully loaded. It's worth it. It's not the 'girly-car' it once was for a few years. If you like to drive, this Celica is both fun and practical.
