Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Cons: Engine Performance
Advice: Do Not Buy This VehicleThe only advise I can give to anyone is do not buy this vehicle. It may be pleasing to the eye with the nice enterior but mutiple engine problems that no Isuzu dealership seems to know how or want to repair. Very sluggish, transmisson issues, fuel pump issues, engine light and tire light issues. To top it off the resale value is as bad as it gets. Bought my Verona for $16K, a year later was offered less than half that amount by 5 different dealerships. Once your in it, you can't get out of it for a very long time.
Pros: Smooth ride.
Cons: Engine stalling.
Advice: Do not, I repeat, do not buy this car.Test drove very well at the dealership 7 months ago but since I drove it off the lot it has been in the shop 9 times. The engine keeps stalling at stop lights and loses power when cruising.
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: The performance
Advice: DONT BUY ONE!Purchased 2006 Suzuki Verona. It is very sluggish. The car has been in the shop numerous times for same problems, transmission jerks around 20mph, engine light comes on and stays on and car sputters when standing at lights, stalls too, cruise control allows car to take off at high speed and goes past set speed, dealer cannot figure out what is wrong with the car. I highly recommend that you don't look into purchasing one of these cars. The dealer has no clue what is going on, and Suzuki Corporate just keeps making me bring it back to the shop each week. No help from anyone, just a game. They say the dealer has to duplicate the problems, they cannot, yet their mechanic rode with me, he felt a good jerk while he was riding with me, and people riding in the car with me have experienced it. Don't buy this vehicle! I bought it based on appearance and price - big mistake!
Pros: size is good
Advice: not to considerI bought it brand new in January of 2006. It has been in the shop at least once a month for as long as I have owned it. I have had oil leaks, suspension problems, computer problems and last but not least the tire sensors are difficult to get set. Wind noise is worse than other makes.
Pros: The radio steering wheel controls
Cons: The performance of the vehicle
Advice: Buyer BewareI have a 2004 Verona also. I would NEVER purchase a suzuki again!! 1 month after I purchased it the head went bad. A few months after that we replaced the computer. We have since replaced the air intake 3 times, the lower half of the engine block, the heating hose, an oxygen sensor and now my emergency brake light comes on every now and then and I don't even use the brake! I have also had it stall in the middle of intersections and was told by the mechanic that nothing was wrong with it the first 2 times we took it in. For a 6 cylinder I don't think it has great pick up either. Overall my rating is poor!!
Pros: Looks real nice , confort driving
Cons: No problems yet. Fear factor!
Advice: Maybe to be a ginny pig like me. Good price for the carIt is a 2005 not a 2006. It runs good right now but I have read poor reviews.
Pros: Nice looking car with comfortable interior.
Cons: Engine problems--specifically the computer issues
Advice: Consider other options.2nd time Suzuki owner (Had Samurai in the 80s). Thought I'd try them again. Having problems with car transmission cutting out. Engine running but no power. Car has been in shop on and off for 3 weeks of the 8 weeks I have owned it. Today they called me to say they reset the computter again and had driven it for 4 days without problem. 3 hours later they called back to tell me not to come to pick it up, as the probem returned again. I'm am thinking I will follow the advice of others and contact the SC Attorney General myself.
