    2008 Scion xD - (M5)

Pros: general fit and finish throughout the car

Cons: door panels show scuff marks yoo easily

Advice: car comes very well equipped so no options are really needed

I purchased a 2008 Scion xD in January. At present, it has 2000 miles on odometer. I am very pleased with its driving position, seat support, adequate acceleration, comfortable ride, handeling, road feel from the power steering, fit and finish. I am getting 31-33 mpg which is mostly highway driving. The instrument panel appearance has both positive [ speedometer, tachometer, odometer, radio ] and negative [ heater ventilation controls] aspects. My only complaint is the door panels show scuff marks very easily. Thus far, I am very pleased with the car.

    2006 Scion xA - (M5)

    Pros: Its size.

Cons: The interior marks pretty easily. Power is lacking a bit.

Advice: Great on gas and very affordable. If you keep it clean, hauling 4 people is a breeze.

I own this vehicle, so I have thoroughly tested it. Its size is very manageable, and if I need rear cargo room, I just fold down the seats. It's get up and go is a little lacking but that's not the car, it's the engine. And since it's a stick shift, I can get all the acceleration I need.

    2006 Scion xA - (M5)

Pros: Everything on it makes sense.

    Cons: No cruise.

Advice: Drive it on lots of different pavement, really look it over for defects, and if you have issues that the dealer won't fix, call Scion directly. The warranty is much better than the dealership will let on.

I've got a 5 speed and lack of power doesn't seem to be a major issue. It handles well but does have a good hum to it on the highway (it could really use a 6th gear, as it runs at 3000 rpm at 60 mph), but that's why I don't have to downshift to pass. Due to the stiff suspension and short wheel base, the ride can be jarring, but thats the quality of the road reflected by the car, so it really vary. Handling is good, but the gas milage isn't all it's cracked up to be. The best way to sum it up is this: It's almost like driving an ultra-super-duper-refined air cooled VW bug....with heat and A/C. If you want a smoother, quieter ride with more power and all the options that are on this car, look in the $16000+ range.

    2006 Scion tC - (M5)

Pros: The full glass top, and the sliding glass moonroof

Cons: I did not like the gas mileage at first, but once broken in, its normal for a car its size and being a sports car!

Advice: GET ONE, they are awesome, you cant go wrong!

This car is a great value, for a great price! Its very powerful, has quick acceleration, road noise is kind of loud (but with undercoating sound dampened). It puts you in your seat, and other than at take-off the most power is noticed in 3rd and 4th gear...I LOVE it, my friends love it..its attractive design and numerous features and aftermarket features are amazing!

    2005 Scion tC - (M5)

Pros: Appearance, performance, quality, standard equipment

    Cons: Fuel economy

Advice: Get the Azure Pearl (best-looking color for this car)

I'm a long-time subcompact owner, and I was looking to replace my wonderful (but bland) Honda Civic. I read quite a bit about Scion, particularly the tC (didn't quite fit Toyota's target demographic being 48, but oh well). When I finally got the chance to test-drive one, I was hooked! The tC may be the best automotive value you can get for under $18,000. WHAT I LIKE: 1. Standard equipment(have yet to get any add-on accessories; don't need 'em! Lots of cool places to store your stuff, too) 2. Overall appearance (the car turns heads; I recommend the Azure Pearl finish, although this is apparently the hardest color to find) 3. Comfort (seats 4 adults comfortably; it's roomier than it looks) 4. Drivability (more than adequate acceleration, responsive handling, solid feel on road) 5. Quality (looks more expensive than it is; excellent fit-and-finish of materials) WHAT I DON'T LIKE 1. Fuel economy is a bit below-average for a subcompact. 2. Minor blind spot at the C-pillar. 3. Toyota may have a clear idea about how they want to market and sell this car, but I'm not sure the dealers do; almost seems as if they don't know how to sell it, and finding the color you want (particularly the above-mentioned Azure Pearl) might be difficult, depending on where you live. 4. Optional equipment (spoiler, foglamps, stereo upgrade) are a little pricey.

    2006 Scion xA - (M5)

Pros: Value of the standard features

Cons: Plastic door panels and dash

Advice: Have it undercoated to reduce road noise, search the internet before buying to find a car with just the options you want. The dealer can add alot of the options at the regular option price.

Fun car to drive. I have a little over 600 miles on the car with complete satisfaction other than the gas mileage is running only about 33 mpg. I bought the Scion Xa strickly for commuter car to work; but my wife and 17 year old son love to drive it. This car will never be labeled as 'looser cruiser'.
