Pros: Panoramic moonroof.
Cons: Thin cloth moonroof covers that close with some difficulty.
Advice: Opt for the leather seats. The standard sport seats are good but easily collect lint.
The 2005 Scion is a 'head turner' and exceptional value for under $20,000. I saw the vehicle next to a 2005 Toyota Corolla XRS at the local dealership. Test drove both vehicles and had to buy the Scion. The Scion surpasses the XRS in ride, handling, performance, and looks. The Scion 5-speed manual gearbox and shifting is smooth as silk versus the Corolla 6-speed XRS. Also, the Scion uses regular unleaded versus the premium gas required by the XRS. Have gone just over 1000 miles without any problems. The only negative: my wife is going to get tickets for speeding with the Scion.Pros: I truly enjoyed the total product from the ride, spaciousness, handling to the looks, colors, and stereo. The all glass roof was very cool as well.
Cons: Didnt get to test drive a stick shift, only an automatic. Ive driven sticks for 20 years, so it may be time to go automatic anyway.
Advice: Dont 'trick' them too gaudy as it will ruin this nice cars reputation.
Test drove on August 2, 2004. Pleasantly suprised by the smooth, quiet ride. Handled much better than my Mustang LX 5.0. Was impressed with the power, especially entering the freeway (going from 45-90 mph no problem)! I love the way it looks, and knowing that it has a Toyota Camry engine only gives confidence that you are getting the best quality and value.Pros: 163 lb ft of torque/ 17' rims/ toyota quality/ a head turner at 16500
Cons: 3000 lbs.....too heavy for this car. Gearing Ratio to high. No negotiation on the price.'what gives'?
Advice: great value....go for it
Good but not Great. I drove one yesterday. Very nice car especially for the price. You can tell it is carrying a few extra pounds around corners. Still, the engine had no problem moving this beast of a two door. So much torque I didnt even use first gear (probably why the MPG are so low too). The camry has the same engine and manages better MPG at a higher weight. Everything else was awsome. 17' rims, sunroof, and design were all better than expected, but I think I'll wait for a lighter more nimble version.Pros: Fuel Efficiancy
Cons: Bumpy ride
Advice: Since it is new I would say be cautios.
Kind of a bumpy ride. Since it is a new model I am unable to get reliabe information about it.Pros: THE EXTERIOR ITS VERY COOL LOOKING,IT MAKES ME SMILE.
Cons: I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET 38 MILESTO A GALLON ON THE HIGHWAY I GET 30.
Advice: FORGET THE REST OF THE COMPETITIVE MODELS SCION IS A TOYOTA ITS RELIABLE.
FOR HAVING SUCH A SMALL ENGINE IT GIVES YOU A PEPPY PERFORMENCE IT FEELS LIKE A LITTLE RACE CAR,AMAZING.Pros: 38 MPG and design
Cons: Horse power
Advice: If you want a compact car the xA is simply the best bang for your buck.
As a former VW Golf GT owner my expectations were high. The Scion xA passed the test. On the hiwaay, my xA is at home, with a surprisingly quite and smooth ride. While in traffic, I love that there are virtually no blind spots. The engine looks and runs great, but delivers poorly when compared to my old Golf GT. I miss the punch. As an XM listener, the fact that the receiver is XM ready is a big plus as well. I commute 125 miles a day to work. I’m looking forward to the time my XM, xA, and myself will spend together. My wife is a bit jealous.
