Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The surprisingly roominess of the interior and trunk.
Cons: Option packages
Advice: Don't just research the vehicle you want to own, research the dealer also
I tried the 2007 Ion2 Coupe after researching the 2006. I loved the way the vehicle handled and the body style of it. The backseat was roomy and I loved the 'hidden' backseat doors. I coudn't find any rattles or horrible noises in the vehicle. The seats were extremely hard and may be hard to handle on a long trip. I would have walked off the lot with one today if the dealer had been a little more flexable. I live in Florida and the lot car didn't have AC; which I would have been happy to over look if they had dropped the price $1,000. I didn't notice the offset controls after a mile or so and was easy to view at a quick glance.Pros: The big trunk
Cons: The gas mileage.
Advice: Don't buy this car.
I've driven the car over 5,000 miles now, and it is terrible. The gas mileage is a dismal ~28.5 even though it is driven mostly highway miles and is supposed to get up to 35 mpg on the highway. Pretty much everything about the car has been a disappointment: gas mileage, dependability (towed back to dealer with 700 miles on it), interior design, interior quality, the paint, driving responsiveness...Pros: Adjustable seating
Cons: Headrest snags my hair
Advice: N/A
This car drive beautifully!!!!!! I would recommend this car for anyone who wants quality, comfort, safety, and style. I love my Saturn!!!!!!Pros: Overall look and great handling in snow/slick roads.
Cons: Back seat leg space.
Advice: Great family car with small childern, Good first time driver car.
Great look, good handling, good gas mileage, Lots of options to fit most people. Nice overall car.Pros: Onstar (great piece of mind)
Cons: No inside release for fuel door
Advice: You'll be hooked once you take it for a test drive
My Ion handles great, gets great gas mileage and it look wonderful. This is my first Saturn and it's been a great experience. The dealership treated my like a valued customer, not just a dollar sign.Pros: none
Cons: my engine light comes on every 3 weeks.
Advice: DO NOT BUY THIS CAR ITS HORRIBLE!!!!
I would never recommend to anyone to buy this car. I wish someone warned me about the problems this car has. My car has been back to the dealer every month since i bought it in July of 2005. I wish I bought some other car and not this one.Pros: Value, Great 30 mpg, 2.4 engine 170 hp, Onstar, Oversized Trunk, Saturn Advanced Audio, 5 star Crash
Cons: Leg room in the rear seat, Fog light button hard to see
Advice: Visit a Saturn Dealership it will exceed your expectations.
This is my first Saturn experience. I've bought 3 new cars in the past and there is nothing like going into a Saturn dealer and being treated like a friend and not a dollar sign. I bought a Saturn ION 3 Sedan with leather, 2.4 performance package with the Saturn Advanced Sound System. This advanced sound system package is definately worth to op for the fuel mileage is well over 30mpg. I compared the Honda Civic, Toyota Corrola and the Chevy Cobalt. The Saturn ION has better handeling, more power, and good fuel economy to beat any import you put up to it. Especially for price, quality, and dealership experience. I paid 16,200.00 I bought the car at Saturn of Clearwater, Florida. Jack Peck and Matt Finch totally exceeded my expectations of the Saturn Experience. I fully recommend this Saturn Dealer of Clearwater, Florida. I drove over a 100 miles just to buy the car there.
