2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

Pros: Functionality. You can carry almost anything in it by folding down one or more seats.

Cons: OEM tires are horrible in the snow. Expected better snow traction given Pontiac markets this car as a 'crossover' vehicle.

Advice: Look at the Matrix, too; it is a mechanical twin, has better equipment at a given price point, and a better warranty.

Decently peppy for a 4-cylinder, especially with the 5-speed manual (or if you buy the GT) but don't expect a hot-rod. High seating position is very comfortable and provides an amazing amount of interior legroom and space. Super easy to get in and out of. Slightly higher ground clearance keeps you from having to worry about scraping the chin spoiler when parking. Interior fit, finish, and materials are top-notch. To me the interior seems like it should be on a 30k car, not a 20k Vibe, especially with the leather interior we got. Functionally, the car is like a swiss army knife. It has so many different configurations that make our life easier, carrying bikes, dogs, or whatever the wife buys at Home Depot. Fold flat seats are an awesome feature. Handles OK if a bit bumpy at slow speeds on choppy Denver roads. Calms down and is very comfortable at speed.

2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

    Pros: Looks

Cons: Nothing... Its a perfect, small comfortable car

Advice: BUY THIS VEHICLE for performance

I did hours of research before I purchased the Pontiac Vibe. I asked for a quote from dealers within a 100 mile radius. The Vibe listed for $19,300 and I received a great quote from Lou Fuz for $15,585. The Vibe is roomy in front and back. I love all the little storage. There is a fold away cup holder for rear passangers. The seats are very comfortable. Very Easy to get out! My Mother has knee problems and she says she can just roll out. Great on gas which was a plus when I was looking for a vehicle. The Vibe offers so much for so little price. On a scale of 1-10, I rate the vibe a 10 plus.... Thanks Pontaic and Lou Fuz (in St. Louis) Debbie from Missouri

2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

Pros: The interior is very roomy!

Cons: The vinyl clad cargo area scratches very easily and should either be carpet lined or replaced by a higher quality(scratch resistant) plastic.

Advice: Purchase the auto transmission, the power value option, and cargo mats for the cargo area.

I'm 6ft. 5in. tall and the head and leg room in the interior of this car, both front and rear, are excellent. I've taken several trips in very hilly terrain and the auto transmission, engine and brakes have performed extremely well. The car also has excellent gas mileage both in city and highway driving. The only complaint I have is that the vinyl clad cargo area scratches very easily and should probably have been carpet lined at the factory. My overall experience with this car has been very positive.

2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

    Pros: Wagon-like cargo space.

Cons: No override switch for the automatic headlights.

Advice: The 'Power Group Value Package' option is worth the extra cost.

This is the most fun to drive vehicle I have ever owned. Fuel ecomomy is excellent as well as the build quality. New cars I have bought in the past required minor repairs or adjustments within the first month but there have been no problems or concerns with my Vibe whatsoever! I would definitely buy this car again and highly recommend it to others.

2004 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

Pros: Quality & comfort at an affordable price, with a look that gets noticed.

Cons: For a versatile economy car, you can't go wrong.

Advice: No need to opt for GT version. Base model performs just fine and saves $$ on gas.

Have owned my Vibe for about 18 months and really like it. First well-built GM car I've owned, thanks to it really being a Toyota deep down. Styling is better than Toyota Matrix version, and really gets noticed. I'm a big guy and my wife is petite, but we both find the driving position comfortable. Moon and Tunes Pkg is a fun option, even though we're oldsters (mid 40's). Had to search for model with side air bags, but it's worth it for the extra safety. ABS is also a plus, and we've had plenty of opportunities to test it during our winter weather. Good miles per gallon and performance. Overall quality fit and finish. Love the ability to expand cargo space with folding seats, including flat fold front passenger seat. Can't beat the price. Had to have the driver power window looked at but it's been fine since, and that's the only problem we've had.
