2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

Pros: Everything -- the entire car.

Cons: My wife says the back seat is a bit hard. I disagree. Therefore, nothing.

Advice: BUY IT!!! BUY IT!!! BUY IT!!!

For an economy car, I could not be more impressed. As a matter of fact, I have been waiting to buy this car since it first came out. The first test drive that I took hooked me on this car before I had traveled a half a mile. I have now had my 2005 Vibe for five months, and everything on the car works as it should. Moreover, on the highway, it handles incredibly well, and the 'feel' is extremely similar to our Grand Prix GT, which is an outstanding car itself on the Interstate. For me and for what I want in a psuedo-SUV, this is the perfect car. PS: For some reason, the Toyota Matrix did not feel the same at all. The seats, for me, were uncomfortable, and the overall ergonomy of the interior did not work. Additionally, the feel on the highway was somewhat similar to the sensations that I imagine a large, covered skateboard would give. I have no axe to grind against Toyota. As a matter of fact, I own stock in both Toyota and GM.

2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

    Pros: Overall feel

Cons: Lack of carpet or rubber mat in rear compartment

Advice: Get the monotone appearance package and the alloy wheels ... both look sharp.

I was surprised by the price-relative overall quality of the car. The handling is great and the body is tighter than I would have imagined. The engine has plenty of pep and the transmission shifts smoothly. Even though my model has rear drum brakes, braking seems very good with plenty of pedal 'feel'. Car runs and drives great and I like the styling a lot, especially with the alloy wheels and monotone appearance package.

2004 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

    Pros: Standard Transmission

Cons: center cubbies and cup holders are too close to hand brake.

Advice: Get the standard transmission with the monotone package

I purchased this car with 10,000 miles on it. It is definetly a great value. It is very roomy and comfortable to drive long distances in, you dont feel cramped. The fold down seats all the way to the front of the vehicle are a major plus for getting large items in and out. I looked at many other cars but found this to be in the best condition with great gas milage and interior. Handling is great and so is the stock stereo system. Definetly a must buy!

2004 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

    Pros: Aggressive Look

    Cons: Underpowered

    Advice: Definite buy

If you are looking for an alternative to SUV, look no further than Pontiac Vibe. It has been almost 2 years since I purchased a 2004 model and I am very happy with it so far. Vehicle handles itself very well in various weather conditions (hot, cold, snow, rain). Recently went on a 1200 mile trip and was surprised that I didn't get as tired as I anticipated. It is very roomy on the inside and has a very pleasant interior. Engine and Powertrain are provided by Toyota (Toyota Matrix is the sister car to Vibe). Even though it feels underpowered at times, this car will respond very well. Gas mileage is about 25 to 30mpg depending on city/highway driving. Overall, a nice package for a reasonable price ($17K - $21K).

2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

Pros: Seats are high enough for seniors and roomy enough for tall people.

    Cons: Nothing

    Advice: Great Buy!

I have test driven both the 2005 Toyota Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe plus a few others. The Matrix and the Vibe were Manual Transmissions. I found both are great Auto’s but the Matrix steering was very tight in sharp turns. The Vibe seemed to respond better in sharp curves. Both have Toyota engines and I have been told both the Matrix and the Vibe have interchangeable parts. Both get great gas mileage. The seating is high enough for my 89 year old mother to enter/exit with comfort and the cargo space is expandable when needed. My 6 foot 2 husband sits comfortably in both the front & rear seats. I found, with GM Employee Discounts for everyone, plus the additional GM rebates made the Pontiac Vibe the best Bang for the Buck. I purchased the 2005 Pontiac Vibe and I just Love it!

2005 Pontiac Vibe - Base FWD

    Pros: 17' wheels,spoilers,xm radio

    Cons: none

Advice: quality vehicle in a time when quality is ????

i did a lot of reserch on this vehicle i special odered this vehicle with several options get the 'power group option' you will not be disapointed the car performs great the fuel economy is great i added the 'abs' option for saftey here in the midwest with snow in the fall it is a good option to have too bad it is not standard i felt the extra $$ for the monotone option was not nessesary due to in time the bumpers will get scratched go with the grey cladding you will have the two tone sport apearence the car has a good ride with the 17' wheels handles great some have stated that it feels like a cart they are wrong the 16' wheels have too of a mushy ride but it is up to you whatever you like. the xm radio option / and the mid gate and top spoilers will set your vibe apart from the rest not to mention the sport look it will turn some heads with great fuel economy the engine has a slight loud rumble under acceleration but it is a 4cyl it is normal you must think how i know i am a master auto technician the toyota quality is in this vehicle thank you Pontiac and plenty of room from vehicle to suv cargo in seconds very comfortable you can enter and get out of car easily my mom has bad knees and she gets in and out easily the auto light option with the power group is great the car does everything itself except drive you will not be disapointed
