Advice: Don't think about it, JUST BUY IT!My husband and I have been wanting to purchase a Grand Prix GT Sedan for about a year now, and still have about 8 more months before we can actually buy it. One day, while having my 92 Saturn serviced, I decided to stroll across the street to Pontiac, and test drive their new 2002. From the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew I was in heaven. But from the moment I sat in her, and zoomed around the course they allow you to test drive on, I was no longer in heaven... I was above that. I was exhilirated and floored. This car has everything you could want, and even more. It's a must have, even if it means being broke... at least you will look and feel good in your car!
Pros: The driver controls and instrumentation
Cons: I honestly haven't found a feature I dislike...sorry!
Advice: DriveIt is fun to drive my new 2003 Vibe. Once you're behind the wheel, the experience begins to unfold as you close the door(quality sound) and gaze at the interior design and spaciousness. The Vibe's fit and finish is very good. The driving experience is comfortable, quiet, responsive and secure. For $19,000 this is a well equipped vehicle that is very versatile in it's ability to carry passengers and parcels. A road test is a must to experience this new design, the new age 'station-wagon' of efficiency.
Pros: The sound system
Advice: It drives as well as it looks. The performance of this car was great. It had a lot of power along with control and comfort. The way this car looks really contributed to pursuading me to purchase the Grand Am GT.
Pros: Steering and handling
Cons: Problem with the motor
Advice: Buy the GT model with the 3800 motorPurchased 2001 Se with 3100 motor, and 30,000 km. Had to take the motor in for repair. Sloppy pistons. Factory defect. Apparently found out from contacting GM that this defect is very common with the 3100 motor. This defected motor has been sold with the SE model for over 3 years, so why hasn't GM corrected the problem?????
Pros: Cruise Control. Excellent on gas
Cons: I love everything about my Sunfire
Advice: You will definitely love it.I love my Sunfire-Alpine Green. This car definitely has some get up and go. Put it on cruise control and let it fly. I'm glad I got the Sunfire instead of the Cavalier. The spoiler on the Sunfire is standard-plus it seems to be larger than the Cavalier. Perfect 1st new car. Great car for the money.
Advice: BUY IT IT IS HOTTHE VIBE WAS VERY ROOMY, TIGHT HANDLING, AND COMFORTABLE. I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY ATTRACTIVE LOOKING. THE HOTTEST THING HOWEVER I THOUGHT WAS THE INSTRUMENTATION THE DEEP RED BACKLIT GAUGES WHERE JUST GORGEOUS. THE ROOMINESS IN THE REAR WAS JUST AMAZING. I THOUGHT THIS VEHICLE OVERALL IS A HUGE HIT!
Pros: It rides comfortably when it is not on a tow truck.
Cons: It is mechanically unreliable with seemingly poor quality parts.
Advice: Don't purchase this car. It is much more trouble than it is worth. This vehicle rides quite well, when it runs. We have two Grand Ams in the family and both have left us stranded on multiple occassions. It seems to be plagued with battery and electrical problems and in general uses poor quality parts (we have had to replace a gasket within the engine, a belt, the alternator, front brakes, the body control chip module, the cassette deck and the coolant cap. I have already had multiple repairs totalling several thousand dollars worth of work on my 2 1/2 year old Grand Am and had to have it towed back to the dealership again today. It was there only 28 days ago for the same problem. If you want reliability, this car is definately not the one to buy. I am a proud American and I support my country as I can, but I am also a hard working consumer who expects some quality and dependability in exchage for my hard earned dollars. Pontiac failed drastically. You and your family deserve better. Don't get stranded. Don't buy a pontiac.
