Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The dashboard design and instructment panel arrangement
Cons: Limited cargo space
Advice: Get you oneThe performance is great, the body styling is second to none and the car is a joy to drive. The car looks much more expensive than it is and people can't believe how much bang you get for the bucks. It is a car for driving, speed and more driving. The only negatives with my 350Z are very limited cargo space, side and rearview mirror vantage points to spot the highway patrol and the location of driver cup holder. But who needs a stinking cupholder when you are driving a 350Z and loving every minute.
Pros: The awesome styling. People can't take their eyes off of it.
Cons: Gas mileage. I know I've got a lead foot, but 15 mpg when others claim 27?
Advice: Buy it today! I've never been happier with a car purchase. If you want a powerful drop top that doesn't cost 50k, this is it. A fully loaded touring Z Roadster will run you 41k + tax and liscense and make more jaws drop than either a Boxster or a SC430 while leaving both in the dust.
Pros: The performance
Cons: The somewhat plasticy feeling interior.
Advice: Read the 'Z' forums first to find out if this is the car for you. You'd swear it was a V-8 under the hood. The torque, the sound, the responsiveness are all amazing. The suspension conveys the road to the driver with perfect clarity. Minimal body roll and excellent balance make this car a blast to drive on the back roads. The track model's Brembo brake package will haul the car to a stop in a big hurry. They are firm and do not seem to fade easily under heavy use. The seats are firm without being uncomfortable and hold you as a proper 'bucket' seat should. The car feels very big on the inside, which makes parking and backing a challenge at first because you're not certain where the corners of the car are. The glove box (behind the passenger seat) along with several other small compartments give ample room for small item storage, and the 'trunk' while typically sports car-ish is big enough for two average size golf bags. Overall, a great purchase for anyone not requiring 4 seats.
Pros: Excellent acceleration and the smoothness and quietness of the engine.
Cons: Lack of storage room.
Advice: Don't buy this vehicle for comfort as it is a true sports car.I purchased this car in Sept. 2003, a 2004 350Z Enthusiast model.I could find no flaws in this car and I am very discerning. It is by far the smoothest running vehicle I have ever owned.I have owned a 1976 280 Z for 12 years and this new one has preserved the look of the old Z in subtle ways but it is definitely a Z car.I started out for California when the car had only 800 miles on it. I couldn't wait to get through the break-in miles so I could rev it a little harder. The fastest I have driven the car is 95MPH, but one could tell that the engine was putting out little effort to get to this speed. Acceleration is fantastic. In all I put 6500 miles on the car and averaged 27 MPG . My speed on the highway was always between 75 and 80 MPH. THe car attracts a lot of attention wherever one goes, even in southern California. The ride is firm but it was what I expected in this type of car. I found the seat to be fairly comfortable. Overall I am very satisfied with this vehicle.Handling on curvy roads was very good. This car made me feel very confident while driving on curvy and hilly roads.
Pros: 380HP, goes from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Car creates lots of attention.
Cons: Weird styling.
Advice: The 350Z is the best bang for the buck.besides those minor setbacks, the Z can compete with the best of them (Honda S2000, Chevrolet Corvette, Chrysler Crossfire).
Pros: THE LOOKS
Cons: HARD RIDE
Advice: GO FOR ITWOW GO ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Pros: Handling is great
Cons: All the rattles
Advice: Make sure you're ready for the kids to try and race you.I've owned mine since September of last year...rattle, rattle rattle. Can't seem to locate it, I think it's in the mirror. I just turn up the volume. My only wish is a place where I could really open it up and see her run and not worry about the idiots on the road.
