Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: acceleration and handling.
Cons: low profile can cause problems with dips and bumps.
Advice: Get one if your into preformance.
This is a minivan with a attitude! It drives like a sports car, yet has the utility of a small minivan. My kids love the ride! It handles turns like its on rails. I did mine up with tinted widows and rims.......I get looks from other sport car enthusiasts.Pros: MPG for the size, sliding rear doors, smooth trany, high quality handling for the price
Cons: Performance tires are expensive to replace, front seat could have a longer bottom cush
Advice: If fun behind the wheel is important to you, get the 5spd and enjoy.
This has to be the best deal on the market today. 29mpg in mixed driving conditions with the 5spd, smooth I-4, impressive handling for the price, useful cargo/seating layout, one of the better cruise control systems I've used, sliding rear doors prevent my young daughters from dinging the cars next to us, and the base model 5spd can be had for around $17k even with a 50k mile warranty. Mazda needs to spread the word on the 5, not enough people realize how good it is. I've logged 50k miles on my 2006 model, it is also decent in New England weather.Pros: roll down middle windows
Cons: no side air bags
Advice: Buy it!!
I LOVE this vehicle. Love the handling and performance. Its peppy and fun to drive. Love the styling ...looks a little different than all the other minivans on the road and the mini-minivan size is perfect for our family. Has all the minivan seating & hauling flexibility but in a scaled down package. We've only had it a few months.. no mechanical problems so far. If it turns out to be reliable, it'll be one of the favorite cars I've owned.Pros: Utility/mpg ratio
Cons: space between second row seats makes a hole when seats are folded flat
Advice: Check out the room before you buy a bigger van or an SUV!
I've put 16K miles on my 2006 5sp which is carried over to the 2007 model year, and I just love it. Fit and finish are beyond reproach-with Mazda's famous high-wear seat fabric, quiet highway cruising, and great ergonomics. I get way better than the predicted mileage-never getting below 24.5 and averaging 27-29 in mostly around town driving. 30 mpg highway trips are not uncommon. The 5 sp. makes for fun driving, and the car handles extremely well-less body role than anything in its class. Contrary to other reports, my normal-sized friends can ride in the third row, and egress is easy with the second row seats sliding far forward. With the back 4 seats folded flat, there is enormous room-I can't understand why more people don't buy this car-perhaps becaue Mazda doesn;t advertise it!Pros: Can out handle most pocket rockets and still match their gas mileage.
Cons: Front shelf of the driver's seat could be longer.
Advice: This may be the best deal for young families in the automotive world.
17k miles since March 06. Holds the turns, has great pick-up, and the 5 speed manuel is a blast. It carries my 2 daughters and all their stuff in comfort and lots of safety. Most impressive is the 29mpg mixed-cycle I consistently get using full-synthetic motor oil. All this for $17,000.Pros: sliding doors
Cons: NO MP3 Playback
Advice: DO not count the third row. very small only for kids.
very smooth drive.Pros: the versatility of the 3rd row seat
Cons: the gear handle gets in the way of the radio/cd changer panel controls
Advice: Test drive it first to see if handles the way you desire
Smooth handling, quiet engine, strong acceleration, great performance and easy to park! Looks small from the outside but is extremely roomy on the inside with lots of cupholders for the kids and mom!! Luv it!! Great job Mazda!!!
