Pros: Comfort
Cons: An arm rest would be nice.
Advice: If you're looking for an urban SUV with true off-road capabilities without plunking down 40 or 50K, then the Freelander SE is your ride!
On and off road, the Freelander is amazing! The all-wheel drive system and traction control get you out of snow covered trails or effortlessly allow you to cruise along sandy beaches -- all in comfort and Land Rover style!Pros: The comfey seats.
Cons: The bumpiness.
Advice: Buy it!
Totaly tubeular dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pros: ride
Cons: none
Advice: test drive it
I have 9000 miles on a 3.01 and I love this car. It is solid, fast for a 6, and it is fun to drive.Pros: Handling
Cons: Would like more seat adjustment.
Advice: Compare HIGHLANDER and JEEP
Solid as a rail on the freeway, excellent cornering. Both were a very pleasant surprise. Brand new I got 20 MPG highway which will improve. Surprising quiet (road noise) on the freeway as well. I am very happy with power and pick-up. Short on cargo space. Arm rests would be nice. Excellent quality and finish. Would have wanted seat bottom tilt . These only go forward and rear and back told. I am very happy with it.Pros: Transmission
Cons: Door pulls
Advice: Look at this vehicle before ploping down money on a Honda, etc.
Why would anyone pay 25-30K for a Honda, Toyota, Isuzu, etc., when they can experience the quality and style of a Land Rover for around the same price. This vehicle is every inch a Land Rover don't let it's small size fool you. Standard are all the features you pay extra for on all other vehicles and then some. I was sold, hope to keep it a long time.Pros: VARYING POSITION OF THE SEAT
Cons: NOTHING REALLY
Advice: THIS SHOULD BE YOUR CHOICE IN SUV
This was a master piece, comfort ,style class, obvoous durability and dependability. Comfortable seats, steering position armrest head rest cup holder , The rugged ride the position for hill climb , the position for sand driving or wet roads. Leg room and passenger comfort was obvious.Pros: style, capabilities, handling
Cons: small rear seat and side view mirrors
Advice: This is a great, versatile vehicle for a fair price
The Land Rover Discovery II is a great vehicle. The price is relatively good for what this vehicle has to offer. With the Discovery's impeccable reputation for off road capability, the vehicle has a surprisingly smooth and luxurious ride. The controls are located in different places compared to most vehicles, but take little time to become accustomed to. The vehicles corners better than most others of the same size. Acceleration is impressive from a rather docile 4.0L engine with a mere 188 bhp. The CD changer is a little akward to access, especially from the driver seat. The side view mirrors are rather small and the vehicle lacks automatic lights. The rear seats are difficult to access, especially for tall individuals. Other than that, the vehicle is well equipped and comfortable. I just purchased my 2002 Blenheim Silver Disco II SE. I opted for the lightstone leather, finding it easier on the eyes. Included at cost were additional wood trim, wheel locks, running boards and front and rear brush guards. The selection is limited, since LR only produces around 70k Discos per year. And with the introduction of the Freelander most Discos were shipped early this year. As far as service, there is a no haggle policy involved, which simply means customers will not spend the entire day at LR debating price. The service department is very helpful and friendly. My experiences at LR have been very pleasant and a big change from the service I was accustomed to at Ford. The warranty is 4 yr/50k miles. Oil changes are free for the life of the vehicle in addition to a free loaner for customers 21+ yrs of age. LR also tries to wash and vacuum your vehicle per service. So far, I am very satisfied with my owner experience.
