Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: smooth transmission and quite engine
Cons: noisy interior and poor pick up
Advice: It is a car for ...senior citizenExtremely noisy and poor acceleration. Smooth trasmission and very quiet engine. Intruments panel leave a lot to desire (light/visibility). Extremely hard on tires. It requires a new set of tires every 20,000 miles (regardless the type of tires you use.
Pros: Smooth and quiet ride. Mark Levinson Audio system, Extremely comfortable heated and cooled seats.
Cons: XM Radio is an extra cost option. Should be standard on this vehicle.
Advice: Give it an extensive test drive. If you want a smooth and quiet luxury vehicle that is affordable, this is the car for you. This Vehicle exudes quality everywhere. The ride is extaordinarily smooth and it's as quiet as a churchmouse. Power and handling is excellent. The miles disappear, you arrive at your destination as fresh as when you started. Dealership is fantastic, they actually treat you like a customer that they need and not like they are doing you a favor.
Pros: comfortable ride and sound system
Cons: GPS Navigation system
Advice: Don't buy the extra GPS systemThe drive floats compared to my BMW Z3 but that is to be expected in a Lexus. I am happy with the car except the Navigation GPS system is consistly off 300 yds (specifications state 100 yds) to more than 4 miles. If I mark the location, it will take me back to that spot. But if I enter the address, chances are it will not get you there within the 100 yd. specs.
Cons: emergency acceleration
Advice: Don't buy because of acceleration defectVery Dangerous because the ES330 hesitates when accelerating under emergency conditions. Accelerator is not directly linked to gas pedal, but rather runs through a computer that is apparently confused by extreme acceleration. It almost caused me to be involved in an accident two different times when I attempted to get out of the way of speeding drivers. Local dealer will do nothing saying 'it meets Lexus standards.' I definitely would not buy again. The ride is great. The look is great. What good is that if you, or a loved one, are killed in an accident?
Pros: The Rain Sensing wipers
Advice: test drive one for 24 hours and do what you do on a daily basisWe purchased this car about 8 weeks ago and the drive is fantastic!! We have taken 2 long distance trips in it and the comfort and ride are top of the line for the price that we paid. We will be Lexus owners from now on, I guess until we turn them in for wheelchairs.
Pros: Interior accoutrements.
Cons: Still getting use to the initial acceleration.
Advice: Check its lineage re quality and reliability; experience the comfortAn extremely smooth and quiet ride with wonderful attention to detail both inside and on the exterior. Standard sound system is more than adequate. I bought it for my wife but I find it much more pleasurable to drive than my Volvo.
Pros: Comfortable and quiet
Cons: Not told that the front passenger airbag requires a passenger that weighs at least 88 pounds to work
Advice: You'll be pleased but get vehicle stability control if you live in an area with ice and snow.Luxurious, quiet, and comfortable. On a down side developed rattles in both rear doors requiring an overnight stay at the dealer but a Lexus loaner was provided. Lexus has a real commitment to quality service and you are made to feel important. Very pleasant on a long trip with exceptionally good seats. Performance is good and gas mileage is excellent. Other than the rattles noted no problems at all in 4400 miles of driving. I feel that Vehicle Stability Control should be a standard feature not an option.Would recommend the car and the dealership without reservation.
