2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Sport RHD

Vehicle is the Black Bear Edition and it is exactly what I wanted. Everything is great on it and it has a few standard features not found in the regular Sport edition.

    2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

    Jeep 4DR Sahara Wrangler Unlimited

Pros: removable top & off-road capability

    Cons: cheap build of interior

This is my first Jeep Wrangler and I am 40 years old. The Wrangler is an anomaly - it was built for off-road and continues to morph a little into a more comfortable and modern daily drive. The 4-dr Sahara really does drive nicely on the highway without losing the Jeep capability. Chrysler has made some improvements (4dr for those of us w/kids, freedom top, sound bar) but they are also milking this brand with a cheaper interior build in some parts while still keeping the price unproportionally high. This is not a luxury vehicle and one should not expect it to behave like one. Just because they offer leather seats, power everything (except the top) and navigation doesn't take away the fact this vehicle will bounce more and ride firmer than their cousin the Cherokee (or other SUVs). I'm not a fan of Chryslers but I love the Jeep wrangler and Chrysler hasn't screwed that up yet. Bottom line - there is nothing like a 4-dr Jeep for off-road, convertible capabilities and highway driving all in one vehicle.

    2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - X 4x4

    Pros: The whole package. Looks

    Cons: NA

Advice: It's a Jeep, not a SUV or car, so don't expect that.

'This is my third Jeep, a 89 YJ(Wrangler), 99 WJ Grand Cherokee, and this 09 JK Unlimited, that I bought 3 weeks ago, put 1200 miles on it so far. This thing drives better than my Grand Cherokee. It does have a little more road noise, but you can still carry on a conversation at 70mph on the highway. I have only been off road a few times, in short runs, but the 4wd works as advertised, the Jeep walked through what I put it in as legend shows. Hard top panels, once you take them off a couple of times, you have them off and stored in no time. Take the doors off, and you adventure is taken to a new level. The engine is a little underpowered, but manageable. Would like to have had a 4.7L V8 or even the 5.7L Hemi option available. Gas mileage, I didn't buy it for gas mileage, but it gets better than my Grand Cherokee did. If you don't like a slightly rougher ride (which I would say is better than my Grand Cherokee, any Ford Explorer I have been in, Xterra, Dodge Durango, and full size pick up truck I have been in), a little road noise, having to climb up into well this isn't for your. If you don't like the possibility of a leak with a soft top, and some with the hard top, this isn't the vehicle for you. If you are looking for mid 20's or higher in gas mileage and you couldn't live with yourself with an a range of 16 to 21, then this isn't the vehicle for you. As they say, It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand! If you do understand and understand that above is all a part of the experience, all apart of the history, all apart of the legend, the you do understand, and a Jeep should be your next purchase. Owning a Jeep Wrangler is a 'Way of Life', is you life asking for it? I use this everyday, drop the kids at school, work, during the work day on appointments, weekend fun, trips in the future. It rides rougher than most, it doesn't get great MPG, it is louder than most, it might even leak, It is not a SUV, it is not a Car, it is a Jeep. See you on the road, see you on the trail, but remember, if you are in a Jeep, WAVE! 'It's a Jeep thing...''
