Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Power, response, comfort and handling.
Cons: I would like the seats to be a little wider.
Advice: BUY IT!! If you like responsive power, buy the V-8This is our third Grand Cherokee, and the best yet. We never had a problem with our other two Grand Cherokees. This time we got the V-8 and 5 speed automatic. A fantastic choice. The car has plenty of power,is extremely responsive and has gobs of torque. It has great handling and is easy to drive. We may be in the minority of Jeep owners, as we also take ours off road. The four wheel drive is flawless, easy to use, and has taken us places most people would not even attempt to go. The Grand Cherokee keeps getting better and better.
Pros: The improved suspension.
Cons: No choice of interior color.
Advice: Take a test drive! We purchased the Overland last September and have done a lot of long-distance traveling in it. It is extremely comfortable and drives well. A nice added feature is the split rear door/window so that the rear space can be accessed from the window lift. It looks beautiful and drives and rides even better. It's suspension and pick up is wonderful. Love everything about the vehicle.
Pros: The Tire sensor in the panel.
Cons: The setup menu on the cluster is too easy to activate.
Advice: Enjoy all of it! Don't just ride on the road, it's a great 4x4 - use it!The 2002 has improved pickup, suspension, and handling. Feature comforts are excellent and ergnomics have been much improved from the 1997.
Pros: Everything about the dash, radio, and seats
Cons: I cant see the front of the hood very well while driving
Advice: Get the Limited with the V-8 and sandstone intGreat Truck. I have been off-road with no problems and lots of power (I have the V-8 and 4 wheel drive). The ride on road is very good. It is quiet and rides heavy. The radio on the Limited is the best I have seen yet. The seats are improved and give more support. I changed the air intake to K&B high flow and this gives me 17 MPG in town and 22 MPG on the HWY (and this is with a V-8 and 4 wheel drive)
Pros: Auto everything
Advice: Go get one.Great SUV. The only true 4X4.
Pros: Performance: Turning ratio and low road noise
Cons: Rear view
Advice: Shop priceand financeThe SUV is quiet, low amount of road noise. I had a 4Runner and it had wind and drive train noise that had me cranking up the radio. The Grand Cherokee's Steering wheel controls are slick. Plenty of grocery room aft without knocking down the rear seats. I have only one negative and that is rear view. The rear window is blocked out somewhat by the headrests. I will get used to the limited rear view, I have less in my Caddy, Northstar. By the way I compared this and test drove the Caddy, Escalade. The Grand Cherokee wins hands down, Caddy is too big and still a GMC truck, nothing 'sporty'. This exceeded my expectations in options, I have it loaded, even the 17' wheels. No buyers remorse, it is fun to drive. I can also flat tow it behind my Safari Motor Home
