  2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport - Hard 4x4

  Pros: the comfort and feel of the car

  Cons: All the repairs.

  Advice: Stay away or at least be careful.

  I bought my '02 rodeo used. I had to redo the transmission at 60,000 miles (right after the warranty expired). I had to replace the entire A/C system. I have put 3 water pumps in the vehicle, and I have a coolant leak that can't be located. Oh and now the car chooses when it will let me disengage it from park into drive/reverse. Put more money into the car than it is worth. Love the feel/drive of the car, but parts are hard to find and cost a bundle. I will never buy another Isuzu.

  2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport - Hard 4x4

  Pros: Shift on the Fly 4WD

  Cons: Cost of the 30,000 mile scheduled maintance service, WOW!!!

  Advice: Find the most RELIABLE and REPUTABLE Dealership possible.

  I have had my Rodeo Sport for three years now and it has been a great vehicle. I've put over 56,000 miles on it so far and have had very little trouble with the vehicle. Had to replace a leaking axle seal at about 39,000 but that was done under warranty. I have to agree with most reviews, Isuzu dealerships in general suck! I had to take my Rodeo Sport to the dealer 3 times before they would admit I needed the warranty repair. Now, there is NO DEALER within 60 miles of my residence, not convenient at all.

  2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport - 2.2L Hard (M5) 4x2

  Pros: Truck like feel

  Cons: radio

  Advice: excellent buy

  Handles very well on dirt roads. Does well in snowy conditions. A lot of bang for your buck. No complaints. People who do complain expected a Cadillac and got a true SUV.

  2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport - 3.2L V6 Soft (A4) 4x2

  Pros: Truck with a convertible feel

  Cons: customer service, overall performance of engine

  Advice: DO NOT BUY ANY ISUZU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  I really liked my car when I first purchased it. It was sport and felt like a truck and a convertible in one! But since I started having trouble with my car, my opinion of my car and IZUSU has changed dramatically! I started having problems over 6 months ago. Some of the problems are as follows: I have has to have my engine reprogrammed 3 times due to my automatic transmission stalling while driving. I had a gas leak that took them 2 times to find, in the meantime, causing nosebleeds for my family. I have a soft top that leaks. The dealer did replace the top, but refuses to replace the windows, that are too small and leak still. I have had broken CD player, broken hanles and lose wring in my speakers! THE WORKE THING IS, I FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST IZUSU WITH THE BBB AND HAVE BEEN IN THEIR PROGRAM FOR OVER 4 MONTHS! EVEN THOUGH MY CAR CLEARLY QUALIFIES UNDER THE LEMON LAW, ISUZU IS STILL REFUSING TO FOLLOW THE LAW BY REPLACING OR REPURCHASING MY VEHICLE! ISUZU OFFERS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WOULD NOT TAKE ANOTHER ISUZU IF IT WAS OFFERED TO ME FOR FREE! THE TROUBLE I HAVE BEEN THROUGH WITH THEM IS NOT WORTH ANY CAR! DO NOT EVER BUY AN ISUZU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Pros: Appearance

  Cons: 4 cylinder engine

  Advice: Get the 6 cylinder engine

  The Sport has a nice ride and appearance. The only problem is the 4 cylinder engine. Even with the manual transmission, performance is sluggish.
