Pros: Power, reinfinement, quality, resale value
Cons: power doors
Advice: This is the bset mini vanThis is the best minivan, period. Had a 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport. At 67,000 miles the car was done. Never again will I buy a Dodge. The Honda has everything that you could ever want in a minivan and then some. It has been reported that the Odyessy is an expensive van in its segment. However, an EX can be purchaced for around $25,500.00, and with its resale value, that makes it quite the bargin.
Pros: Automatic sliding rear doors
Cons: Durability of Air Conditioning Condensor
Advice: Read the reviews before purchasingI was extremely disappointed in the mileage and even more disappointed in the fact that I have needed to replace the air conditioning condensor, which is about $850 in parts and labor, twice in two years. This is not covered in the bumper to bumper warranty. Apparently, a tiny rock flying through the grill and into the condensor is enough to totally destroy it. I really wanted to purchase a Suburban or Yukon XL, but decided on the Honda because of the better gas mileage. Even with the bad mileage and the first condensor replacement, I was extremely pleased with the Van. But the second condensor replacement has me thinking this will be an annual $850 cost. Considering the cost of this vehicle, the fear I now have of small rocks, I wish I would have gone with another option.
Pros: Smooth drive and solid feel to the Odyssey
Cons: Bit costly for self sealing tires. No New vehicles available for purchase 'Touring Edition'
Advice: Buy with confidence in the Honda line. Wish we would have done it earlierHonda Odyssey Touring is an Incredible vehicle for the price. Test driven Nissan, Toyota Sienna both a bit soft in turns and slight plow in corners. Incredible value on the Odyssey we currently have removed ourselfs from the U.S. car market due to costly repairs numerous recalls and poor craftmanship. Wish we would have looked sooner before spending hard earned money on GM JUNK!! The Odyssey has performed very well and many features and weel thought out controls. We will be a returning client to the Honda line.
Pros: The simplicity and ergonomics of the vehicle; very well engineered vehicle.
Cons: They are slightly more money than most of there competition. still worth it though.
Advice: I think when you do the research; you will conclude that its a best buy overall.I was extremely impressed with the overall finished quality and well thought out ergonomics that were put into this vehicle. It seems to me that Honda has done an excellent and thorough job to ensure comfort, quality, reliability, and getting the most from there 244HP V6 Variable Cylinder Management engine; which is wonderful considering the increasing costs of gasoline. The transmission is so smooth between shifts, and the ride is smooth and very quiet compared to my 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. I have just broken in this minivan (3,100 miles) and took a quick family trip to Florida and was getting on average 30 MPG on the highway, and 21-23 around town. That says allot when comparing this vehicles V6 gets better gas mileage than most of its competition using a 4 cylinder engine. The DVD system is a great asset for me and the wife to ensure some peace while we are driving with 3 boys in the van, and the cordless headsets make it even better when they want to watch a movie and we want to enjoy some music and good conversation. I dont regret spending the additional money to ensure a long-term reliable vehicle. No wonder its rated the best in its class several years running. Kudos to Honda for there continued efforts to ensure they are the front runner in Minivans!
Pros: The dual control heat A/C. The dash display is bright and easy to read.
Cons: The fan high and low setting is more on the passenger side.
Advice: Compare prices . I checked prices at three dealers. Prices varied by $2000I bought this vehicle and took a 900 mile trip three days later. I averaged 23.1 miles per gallon over mountains in TN. I averaged 19.0 miles per gallon around town. This vehicle is 600 pounds heavier than my 99 Montana and gets the same gas mileage. I was very comfortable and cozy during the trip. I like the handling it's like a car and can turn on a dime. I can fit the kids, dogs and groceries all at one time. It has a lot of passing power the 244 HP motor does the job. I have to get use to only the drivers door unlocks when you turn it off and I'm use to all the doors unlocking. I really love this vehicle and look forward to a long problem free ownership.
Pros: eighth seat - yes its small, but it works
Cons: Driver's window auto-up feature that works (will not stop for anything unless you flick switch) even with no keys and window lock on
Advice: Its a good vehicle, but look at all the details closely because that is your chance to have Honda change them.Vehicle drives great, even in not great weather.
Cons: a lot of road noise ,...gas milage is bad
Advice: ride on a rough road ,not a freewaylots of noise
