Cons: Running problems
Advice: Shop aroundI have had this vehicle now for only about 8 months. From day one it has had problems. The suicide doors don't close properly, there are vibrations, handle fell off of tailgate. I only got 13/14 mpg even though sticker said 15/19. Am getting rid of this truck with only 9000 miles.
Pros: 4 DOORS ARE GREAT
Cons: HOW GM DEALS WITH THERE CUSTOMERS AFTER A LARGE PURCHACE.
Advice: TEST DRIVE UNDER ALL CONDITIONS.i BOUGHT THIS TRUCK, HAD A VIBRATION ABOVE 80MPH, THE DEALERSHIP TRIED 5 TIMES TO FIX, NOW GM RELATIONS SAYS I'M ABUSING IT AND WILL NOT DO ANY THING TO FIX IT.. MAKE SURE U TEST DRIVE ABOVE 80 BEFORE U BYE IT... THIS VIBRATION WILL RATTLE YOUR TEETH, THEY SAY ITS NORMAL.
Pros: Luxurious interior
Cons: No cylander deactivation
Advice: Excellent for personal use- can be a beast of burden when you need it to beGreat riding truck. The engine is very smooth and refined for a pushrod- comparable to the FORD and NISSAN truck V8s, with decent power and impressive economy. Handling doesn't suffer too badly with a full load. By far- the best looking truck out there- much more grown-up looking than the alternatives. Only truck close is the F150. The interior is not cutting-edge, but works well and grows on you. If you don't pound the gas pedal- you can achieve 20 MPG in mixed driving. Opt for the tonneau cover- it seems to help. I would humbly recommend this truck to anyone with a family and a need to tow/haul. It is attractive, reliable, and knows its place, unlike the insecure Titan. It also makes the Ram look like a cartoon. The F150 is a good alternative, but don't expect anywhere near the fuel economy.
Cons: the mechanics
Advice: do researchBought a 05 GMC Serria and in less than one year the dealership replaced 2 transmissions. If you like rental cars by one cause you will drive it more.Trade it in on a 05 Dodge hemi The 04 serria only had 19000 miles on it and 2 new transmissons.
Pros: Front view.
Cons: Parking brake has no automatic release when put in gear.
Advice: Buy for the long runSoft ride, great turning radius, smooth transmission, good vision, easy to ready dash.
Pros: Driver comfort
Cons: Gas mileage (16 mpg
Advice: Go for it.I've had a 2004 Sierra extended cab for 14 months. The interior space makes this a luxury vehicle for me. Long drives are a breeze, you can stretch out and relax. The back seat has an amazing amount of legroom for an extended cab, but the seat back is a bit too upright for long trips. I've had zero problems with this truck. It was a 'work truck' model that I bought new for $18,700. What a great value! The turn radius makes this truck frustrating to park. I have to go forward, backward, forward, to get it in. I don't understand why they don't make bedliners a standard feature. Don't believe GM's threats that their Delco stereos can't be replaced without extensive electronic gadgetry or reprogramming. A saavy car stereo guy will pop in an aftermarket unit and all you lose is the annoying beeping when you leave the door ajar, which you won't miss.
Pros: LIKE THE TRUCK EXCEPT CANT DRIVE.
Advice: IF THEY DO NOT FIX NOOOOOOOOOOOI have had it in gmc shop 04 times for brakes, they always say they are okay.it seems like the rear brakes do not work. I could not make a safety stop if had to.pedal goes to floor. Is this comm0n for this truck. If so iwill get rid of it .I only have 6200 miles on it. we are afraid to drive it . ThANKS FOR YOUR TIME. W MANGOLD.
