    2003 Ford Focus - Premium (110A) 2dr Hatchback

    Pros: Handling

    Cons: Center armrest

    Advice: Drive one for yourself

I have been waiting for Ford to introduce an interesting small hatch ever since they stopped importing the Fiesta around 1980. The Focus is it. I have yet to drive an SVT (which I'm dying to do), but this ZX3 was very impressive. The balance of the suspension, steering and drivetrain were superb for a car in this class. The only worry for me has to do with potential quality problems, though I will take the chance and overlook the recalls, etc. My biggest problem with the Focus on my test drive had to do with the center armrest; my arm would hit it on every shift. I intend to buy a ZX3 Standard just to avoid this feature.

    2003 Ford Focus - LX (200A) Sedan

    Pros: looks

    Cons: accelaration

Advice: for the price its not bad. only real problem is that after 23k miles the front brakes are shot. This seams to be a regular problem with this vehicle.

makes a squealing noise from front brakes when braking and was told it would go away with driving.

    2003 Ford Focus - ZTS (500A) Sedan

    Pros: none

    Cons: the whole thing

Advice: get a pontiac sunfire 2003 instead. safer, cheaper, faster, more powerful and more sportier then the ugly thing

buy this car only if you have a death wish. never never never EVER have i felt such a unstable car as this one. i dont know what the is wrong with the aerodynamics but when i was driving it with the salesman in the car for a test drive i went behind a tractor trailer and the whole car started shaking. did this twice and the excuse i got was crosswinds?...my retort? coffin on wheels

    2003 Ford Focus - LX (200A) Sedan

    Pros: Simple

    Cons: Considering the cost

Advice: Ignor the reviews from people who don't own one.

I bought this car for my son who just started college. As I dove it around I decided to keep it for my self and let him have my old Nissan Sentra. The car is quite comfortable for a small car and it has been trouble free. I drive about 10,000 miles a year total. We also have a larger car (minivan) but I prefer to drive the Focus. Most of our driving is around town. Happy motoring

2003 Ford Focus - SE Zetec Comfort (320A) Sedan

    Pros: A very short lease

    Cons: Road noise

    Advice: Don't waste your money

Handles decent, no power when A/C is on. Gas mileage is horrible. Road noise is extremely annoying. Takes a week to stop the car.

    2003 Ford Focus - SE (300A) Sedan

    Pros: The stereo

Cons: The difficulty in opening the trunk. Too stiff.

Advice: Get a good deal. Check out the doors and trunk. Look at performance.

Car is noisy. Doors and trunk difficult to shut easily. Handles okay. Performance while revving high on the engine, the performance lacks enough pep to get through the steep hills. Gas mileage not as good as advertised or expected.
