2.3 ZX3 Great little car.
Pros: The 2.3 Liter Duratec/5-Speed combo
Cons: The appearance from the rear.Peppy. The 2.3 easily out-accelerates average traffic and still gets 30+ mpg. Reasonably comfortable but a bit noisy. Handles well for a front-drive. Cheap to operate and insure. I drove a 2.0L SVT and it was a dog compared to the 2.3 Duratec. Trouble is, the 2.3 was only available in 2003-2004 in the 3-door model.
Great car for price
Pros: Overall durability
Cons: Level of comfortThe Ford Focus SE 5-speed is an extremely reliable, fuel efficient, very tough vehicle. I love Fords and will continue to purchase them when possible.
NICE 03 ZX-3
Cons: Could use a little more powerBought it new, very dependable car. I have always liked it.Good build quality. Very comfortable, handles great. Quiet on the highway. Not overly powerful car but gas mileage is 32 mpg on the hwy. Mine is a 5-Speed and has a nice, tight shifter. Possibly the best car I ever owned.
Pros: Stereo/ power locks and windows/ cruise control
Cons: cup holders
Advice: Compared to similar cars of this caliber it is the best deal for the price.Handled and drove nicely. One of the most comfortable drive I have ever had.
Pros: Price and good gas mileage
Cons: Dashboard blinking light
Advice: No adviceJust bought a new 2007 four door car with automatic transmission, sports package, ABS, and side impact airbags. The ride is OK, and the car looks good, but there are a couple of things I don't like. One is that there is a red blinknig light on the dashbboard that is supposed to discourage thieves, but cannot be disabled when the car is at home. I was told it will not drain the battery, but I doubt it. Second is the fact that the bumpers are for 2.5 mph, not 5 (which still was ridiculously low). I understand the new Government standard is 2.5 mph. I wonder why. One additional curiosity is a roof non-telecoping antenna that can be unscrewed for a carwash, but perhaps also for other reasons.
