Pros: 16' tires
Cons: nothing actually
Advice: Buy now!It handles great and turns on a dime. It's one of the best small SUV's out there. Ford built a winner in the Escape!
Pros: Lots of room
Cons: Haven't found anything yet
Advice: We love it.We were looking for an economy vehicle and have a new baby. Therefore, we opted for the 4cyl 5speed for the 24 to 28 mpg rating. It has decent power and even the base XLS came with power windows, Automatic door locks and security system, CD player, etc, etc. It drives very nice, a tad stiffer than a car, but no where near my truck. Handles great, and feels 'zippy'. It is easy to get around in and holds a bunch of stuff. All the baby gear, and you can still shop without fear of having to stuff things in.
Pros: excellent seats, tilt steering wheel, and sitting high up. i can see more when i am driving
Cons: no complaints yet.
Advice: splurge on the v6. it is worth it. very little engine noise.i love this suv. i wish i had bought one, years ago, when my children were little. they are now teenagers. plenty of room for my 6'3''son. i was told by friends and my brother to buy the escape with the v6 engine and splurge on the moon roof, 6 cd player, built in tire pressure gauges, 16 inch wheels, etc. i am so happy i did. very little engine noise, compared to my ford escort. i feel safe in this vehicle. i visited all the dealers, looking at their suv's. ford, treated me the most respectfully, gave me the best rebate, and was the most informative about cars in general. i would definitely buy another escape and deal with ford products again. this is my fifth ford. once you test drive this suv, especially with the moon roof, you will want to buy it!
Cons: seats a bit too firm
Advice: If you want plenty of room without guzzling gas, this is the right vehicle for you.My favorite part of this SUV is by far the gas mileage. My average mpg for driving 3000 miles from May through September was 35 mpg. The vehicle got a bit lower mileage when new (31.0 mpg over the first 3000 miles) and gets lower mpg in cold weather (30.7 over it's first winter). I find the driver's seat a little too firm, but still tolerable even for extended periods of driving (5 hours). Based on my experience over the last year and a half of ownership, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this vehicle. It has loads of room but gets the same or better mileage than most small sedans, plus it's emissions are much lower than standard vehicles.
Cons: cant think of any right now
Advice: Get the V6 you will not be sorryAfter looking at many different styles of SUV's we decided on the Escape, The vehicle is by far the best I hae owned and does well in all types of conditions It has decent fuel economy and plenty of power with the V6. Over all it is a fun and pleasurable car to drive for daay to day life.
Pros: Even Base Model has Power Windows/Mirrors/CD Player.
Cons: Hard to get Seat Covers to Fit the Side Bolstered Seats.
Advice: XLS Buyers, get the Convience Package Option. It's worth the few extra hundreds. This little sport youte dosn't seem large from the outside, but it quickley swallowed nearley all my tools from the old truck and still has a good amount of storage left in the back. The rear seats have a good amount of leg room, and all 4 seats are comfortable. Drives great, very nice riding vehicle. The 2.3L 4 Banger has livable power, and I'm getting 18MPG with pure city driving.
Pros: no boundaries package
Cons: sound system
Advice: buy itWe love the car like handling and the overall appearance. We bought the xlt with the no boundaries package in sonic blue. The only thing that we do not like is the sound system, we should have got the upgraded system.
