Pros: Styling
Cons: Stow and Go seats - very uncomfortable
Advice: Climb in the rear seats and see what you think.
I am so disappointed in the 2005 Touring model. I had a 2002 LX model and LOVED it. The new 'stow and go' seats are cheap and uncomfortable. They are marginally better if you try them in leather, but then you need to go up to the bigger engine which I found to be much more sluggish than my 2002 LX.Pros: Sliding doors on both sides, room for the family and the four wheel drive for the snows.
Cons: You had to upgrade to the higher package to get the other power sliding door.
Advice: Buy it, and if you live in the snow belt go for the four wheel drive option.
My wife and I both took the test drive at the dealers and we both fell in love with it. Since she was going to be the primary driver and this was going to be her vehicle I left it up to her taste. My wife loves the feel and room that it offers as well as the handeling. There is enough room to put our two children in, luggage and head out on our vacations. She is very happy with this van.Pros: Lots of storage room
Cons: Stowable seats were UNCOMFORTABLE for our children
Advice: Take your children along and have them ride in the seasts for a while.
My husband and I decided we wanted this because of the stowable seats. Took it for a drive and were happy. Came back to the dealer with the 3 children (ages 6,10, 13). We weren't 2 miles down the street when they started complaining that the seats were hard, thin, short, tilted funny and uncomfortable. Guess it was a good thing we had decided to bring them back with us before we bought. In order to get the seats small enough to fit in the floor they have sacrificed comfort. For smaller children or those still in car or booster seats, this may not be a problem, but for ours it was.Pros: stoe and go seating
Cons: left knee uncomfortable against the door power window console
Advice: check out all minivans and pick one that suites your needs and desires.
comfortable ride on rough roads, good acceleration, handles well, lots of options.Pros: Stow-Go-Seats
Cons: Nothing yet.
Advice: I think this mini van is an excellent choice and I would definitely recommend it.
This review is for the 2005 Town & Country Touring model. I am extremely happy about this purchase. I had a Windstar and had been looking at the Freestar. The Freestar did not impress us like the Town & Country. The Town & Country Touring and Limited models have a 3.8 engine, the lower models don't. It is very quiet inside the vehicle, handles bumps smoothly, and is loaded with numerous things to make spending time in a vehicle so much more enjoyable. I love the stow-n-go seats, what a nice feature. There were just so many thoughtful things done to this vehicle, it amazes me.Pros: Great ride & handling
Cons: A bit under powered; would like the 3.8 engine...
Advice: Give the base and LX a close look before opting for the more expensive extended version
Don't forget the short base model! Easier to park, maneuver and garage. Good, solid ride. Excellent transportation. Easy to get in & out. You still ride high, better able to see all around. We felt buried in our Buick. No tiger on power, but we expect great mileage for a mini-van. Fat, comfortable seats. Saved lots of money over extended version. Still plenty of area to store things. It does lack some bells & whistles of the extended version.Pros: Comfort
Cons: Heavy seats
Advice: Get one.
I bought this vehicle brand new and it now has 25,+++ miles. It hasn't given us any problem whatsoever. The only time it's in the shop is for routine maintenance. It's very comfortable, spacious and quiet. A lot more efficient and practical than the 2001 Chevy Suburban LT that I used to own (Not very space efficient - got rid of it right away). Gas mileage is about 18 city, 24 highway. Trip computer and DVD are really nice. I'm planning of getting the 2005 model because of the new extras, especially the stow and go seats. With the zero percent interest and the rebates, it's a very good buy.
