Pros: Combination of awesome power and control and comfort.
Cons: Navigation system
Advice: Get a radar dectector! The S6 is simply a luxury rocketship. Stomp on it and your riders go wide eyes with comments like 'eyoooow'. My girl friend's son said 'this is faster than my dad's Corvette!' I recently put 3500 miles on it in 6 days (Minneapolis to Phoenix and back) and got 21 mpg for the trip (cruise control set of 80) and it flattend the mountains, and let me get out at the end of a 900 mile day feeling as refreshed as if I had just made a trip to the store. Wonderful handling and performance in all weather conditions, safe and stable. Zenon headlights turn night into day, Bose sound system is decent, and the heated leather seats are great. Most fun I have had in a car since I was a kid (mid 60s now).
Pros: The famous Audi quattro all wheel drive system
Cons: No spot for a phone. Get the telematic package
Advice: Look hard. Only 100 per month are sent over hereI was making the transition from SUV to sedan but still wanted all wheel drive and needed a little extra storage. While the term 'station wagon' brought 1960's visions to mind, the Avant, as they call them in Europe, is a far cry from your father's Chevy Caprice Wagon. It is, by far, the finest automobile I have ever owned. And the 340 hp engine is awesome. All the bells and whistles, superior fit and finish, better handling package than it's big brother A6 4.2. The 'Recaro' seats provide great support, the Bose system is remarkable. Poweer everything including tilt and telescope. If you want understand elegance and performance (keep in mind, 40 more horsepower than a Porsche 911), superior handling and safety, this is the vehicle for you! firstname.lastname@example.org
Cons: I might suggest the luxury seats over the sport seats for long term driving comfort
Advice: Compare with BMW 540 and Benz e320This is a truly great automobile. It is blinding fast, but very smooth riding and luxurious. I have only had it a month so I can't speak to reliability yet. This is a no compromise stealth wagon. The 340 horses let you know in no uncertain terms you are going somewhere very quickly as your back presses against the seatback and you watch cars disappear in your mirror, but the ride is exceptionally smooth and quiet. The Bose stereo is all you hear. Believe me it competes and I think out does both BMW and Mercedes in terms of its combination of performance, utility and comfort. Is it worth 60K? Depends on what looking for. If the idea of having a scary fast sleeper wagon as luxiourous as the benz or BMW without the ostentatiousness of those vehicles appeals to you, it just may be worth it. For me personally, I wasn't going to buy a rear wheel drive car as I need the snow capability os all wheel drive for northeast winters, so this factor rejected the BMW early on. The E320 Benz is too ostentatious for me and really does not compete on a performance basis with the S6. Overall this is a fun, rewarding car to drive. If you can swing it and want the best wagon currently available, go for it!
