    2003 Toyota Highlander - Limited V6 AWD

    Pros: V6 engine

Cons: The plastic trim in the base model interior seems a little cheap for a car this price.

Advice: Test drive all the competitors and you will find the Highlander is on top of the list.

Test drove the Highlander and loved the ride and quiteness of the engine. The car accelerated great with the V6 and the interior was airy and roomy. Everything seemed to be laid out thoughtfully. While it is not as glamous as it's cousin the Lexus RX300 it is larger and has all the comforts one could use. I test drove the Escape and Liberty and it was no comparison. Toyota knows how to get it right.

Cons: No radio tuner on the steeling wheel and no power passenger seat.

Advice: Do your homework on the

This is my first SUV and I absolutely love it. The limited model is very nice, but the price is too close to the MDX, which made me wonder maybe I should've gotten the MDX. However, the price for highlander is negotiable, but not MDX.

2003 Toyota Highlander - Base AWD

Pros: Easy steering and suspension make it a joy to drive.

Cons: Perhaps it looks a little plain from the outside.

Advice: Upgrade the stereo perhaps and get a moonroof.

I switched from Subaru to Toyota and love the ease of driving, feeling of comfort and smooth quiet ride. I am very happy with my Highlander. For myself, the 4 cyl is fine although everyone tried to talk me into a 6. For gas economy, and overall commuting comfort and safety, I love this car. Two weeks out and I still love it. It has plenty of power for what I need, and I still get that SUV feel with all the comfort!

    2003 Toyota Highlander - Limited V6 AWD

Pros: The Quiet, Powerful, All Weather, Smooth, Confident Ride.

Cons: The Primary Interior Color, The Only Leather Color.

Advice: Buy Mud Capable Floor And Cargo Mats.

After 850 Miles And One Extended Road Trip, That Included Nasty Weather, The Experience Of Being A Highlander Owner Is One Of Growth. The Styling Is Becomming Less Awkward, I'm Growing To Like It More Each Day. The Interior's Comfort & Flexibility, The Primary Reason For My Purchase, Has Also Become A Growth Experience; The Flat Floors Realy Open Up The Seating Room, Amazing How That Changes Everything You Might Have Thought About Interior Space. The Drive Train, & Ride Are Amazingly Endering. Like A Libation, They Seduce You, Slowly, Measurably, Every Time You Drive, In A Consistant Cadance. With Each Ride Yo Add To The List Of Likes: Your Impressed With The Smoothness... The Silence {Provided The Windows/Sunroof Are Closed}... The Power {V-6}... These Confidance Enhancing Drugs Draw You Into A Feeling Of A Solid Comfort; Reinfoced By Quality Construction {Very Little Screws Or Weld Visible,Tight Seams, No Gaps In The Carpeting}, Comfortable Seating, & An Excellent Heating/Air Conditioning System. I Have Complaints: The Big One... Leather Interior Is Ivory Only. Hard To Keep Clean! The Small Ones: Akward Center Console Lay-out. Bad Design, As The Lower Center Opening Is Relitivly Useless; Ashtry In Wrong Position; Cup Holders Fragile, & A Dirt Trap; Storage Area's Door Fancy And Fragile; Rear Seats Should Slide Foward And Back, Not Only Recline; The Passanger Seat Should Have Power Adjustments, Or At The Very Least Manual Ones That Go Beyond Travel And Recline. The Driver's Seat And Other Settings Should Have At Least 1 Memory Setting. I'm 42 Now, And Didn't Purchase This Vehicle To Be A Dream Car, Just A Practile One. I Have A Strange Feeling That When I Visit You, On My 60th Birthday, I'll Be Driving This Highlander.

    2003 Toyota Highlander - Limited V6 AWD

    Pros: Toyota name and reliablity.

Cons: Wish it was a 5 speed ... like the Honda Pilot

Advice: Test drive and go with the 6 vrs. 4 cylinder.

Smooth car like ride, much more comfortable than the '98 Jimmy we traded , Lexus powered , silky smooth, excellent power, high stance, a lot of comfort features on our Limited edition , first trip put 1,500 miles on Va. and N.Carolina highways. Handled very well, drove at 75 mph. steady and strong. Rain and fog not a problem. Great traction in 7' snow in snow mode. Fun to drive and makes you feel good... and safe...

    2003 Toyota Highlander - Limited V6 AWD

Pros: Quality of construction - in every detail.

Cons: Couldn't find one in the entire state with leather seats.

Advice: You can't go wrong with the Highlander.

I always have a feeling of safety and reliability driving a Toyota. With the Highlander, there are the additional benefits of functionality, styling, and comfort. I had been looking at the Lexus, Honda, and Acura models in the class, but the instant I drove the Highlander off the lot on the first test drive, I knew it was the right one. One week after the purchase, no remorse. I made the right choice.

    2003 Toyota Highlander - V6 FWD

Pros: Interior fit, finish and function.

Cons: Cup holders are awkward to use. The sound systems leave a lot to be desired.

Advice: Upgrade to the limited, but skip the 4WD unless you absolutely need it.

Rides more like a car than expected, but handles like an SUV. We drove it home from the dealer in a blinding snowstorm and had no trouble due to the traction and skid control featues. A friend followed us in his SUV and had to engage his 4WD twice! The interior cloth is superior to the Pilot in both look and feel. The steering is more responsive and the suspension is better than the Pilot. The dealer came two thousand off sticker and threw in leather at no charge! This was one of the best buying experiences we have ever had. Now I know why people are so loyal to Toyota.
