    2002 Toyota ECHO - (M5) 4dr

    Pros: Storage spaces

Cons: High Seats and chintzy upholstery

    Advice: Get something else

I used to drive a Geo Storm, so I'm accustomed to small box cars--but I'd take that old Storm over the Echo any day. When I test-drove the Echo, I immediately wanted to get out. Yeah, all the little storage spaces are nice, but the high seats made it feel as if I was going to be thrown out the windshield at any moment. The salesman was really pushy, too, like a test drive meant I was ready to sign on the dotted line. I got the Sentra instead, for less than the Echo, it turns out, and I'm totally satisfied.

    2002 Toyota ECHO - (M5) 2dr

Pros: low cost, yet very reliable

Cons: hard to find one with all the options I wanted

Advice: Test drive it and fall in love with it!

This little car can be surprisingly quick. I loved it when I test drove it and ended up buying it. Handles nicely. Very, VERY affordable and Toyota has great customer service. Gas mileage is excellent. Great commuter car and high roof and high seats make the inside roomier than I expected. I used to drive a VW Golf and I definitely prefer the Echo. My backseat passengers have more leg room than in the Golf. Trunk space is TINY, and interior's plastic looks a little cheap-- but then again, it's a cheap car, so what do you expect? Central console took some getting used to, but now that I'm used to it, I realize it makes it easier to keep my eyes on the road. ABS is a hard option to come by-- they don't make many with that, as well as the fold down rear seat-- so if you're lucky enough to come across one with those options, snatch it up.

    2002 Toyota ECHO - (M5) 4dr

Pros: the dome-shaped roof.....its great for tall people

    Cons: the horn...its too sensitive

Advice: have a brother whose a body guy...the paint job bites

This is a great little car. With the exception of every thing being an option...im suprised a windshield wasnt an option....its good for the money. I have 2 children and this car is perfect for us. The black looks great but is impossible to keep clean...my own fault i suppose. But i recomend it for people that cant afford the higher priced toyotas.

    2002 Toyota ECHO - (M5) 4dr

Pros: Cabin space and fuel efficiency.

Cons: Trunk could have been better designed.

Advice: This is the best performer in the Economy car area.

The ECHO delivers on its promise of ease of use, efficiency and reliability. The ECHO also provides ample interior room, great visibility, peppy performance, above average sound system, huge trunk, great finish and a plethora of storage niches. Room for improvement on the echo is: front tire hop while accelerating in wet conditions, a little more power for steep grades, trunk hinges that don't eat up room, a larger trunk pass thru to main cabin, better placement of power lock activator, and a better interior light. Overall, no other car gives more value for dollar spent than the 2002 ECHO.

    2002 Toyota ECHO - (M5) 2dr

    Pros: Center console

    Cons: Small wheel size

Advice: Buy one--the great mileage alone is worth it.

My 2001 Echo was recently smashed--front and back--by MUCH larger vehicles in a freeway collision. I walked away unscathed. I loved this car, my friends loved this car...I'm definitely buying another new Echo (as soon as I get the insurance check).

    2002 Toyota ECHO - (M5) 4dr

Pros: Great gas mileage car hates gas

Cons: location of power door lock switch between console.

Advice: Buy the Absolutely red color its hot with spoiler and gold pkg.

THis car handles great on the road this 4 cyl. has great pep and pickup. The Bridgestone Potenza tires really hug the road. The high roof makes it feel like your driving a bigger car there is no cramped feeling. The absolut REd color is hot with the spoiler and changed the wheel covers to chrome mag wheels car looks hot with the dark gray lowered trim. Get the light burlwood dash kit changes whole look of dash. Gold PKG. looks good too.
