Update on October 2009 review
Pros: Fun to drive, plenty room and good mpg!
Cons: Rough ride, poor sound proofing and dropping mileage. We now have owned our 2010 Prius for over one year. We have almost 25,000 miles on the car. Still like it a lot, but for some reason our mileage has dropped considerably over the past year - we're lucky to get an average of 36 mpg now. Haven't change driving habits or gas - will have dealership give it a good going over at the oil change coming up. With the price of gas, we still feel we've made a good decision in buying the vehicle.
2006 Toyota Matrix
Pros: Gas mileage
Cons: Cheaply madeI waited a long time to be able to buy a Toyota and wanted one because they had the reputation of being built well and a dependable vehicle. The five years that I have had this vehicle have proven that idea wrong. Everything from the paint job to the hubcaps are made cheaply on this car. I have kept up the maintenance religiously on my vehicle and the last time I took the vehicle in for maintence I was told I had a $900.00 oil leak around the timing belt. Can't wait to get rid of it, my Hyundai was a much better vehicle, wish I would have kept it!
Pros: fuel economy
Cons: acceleration; powerReliable, economical, dependable
