Pros: The interior roominess
Cons: Stereo System (which I have replaced)
Advice: Take a test drive--you'll love it!
I have actually owned my Corolla S for 3 months and I love it! I went from the 'sporty' Firebird to the Corolla S much to my husband's dismay. I love the trunk room and the comfort and roominess of the interior. I find it very sporty and fun to drive! My daughter loves the extra room as well. I can now take my nephew & his car seat and extra belongings whenever I want with plenty of room and ease to get him and the seat out! Everyone who has seen it cannot believe it is a Corolla or the amount of room it has inside in addition to its new sporty exterior! Gas mileage is great as well.Pros: interior space and comfort
Cons: limited trim options -- all or nothing
Advice: A LOT of car for the price!
The 2003 Corollas were redesigned from the ground up, and it shows. Great exterior looks--similar styling as many Lexus vehicles. Peppy, smooth, and quiet. Simple, spacious interior--the cabin and trunk space are HUGE for a sub-compact car. It rides higher than most other cars in its class, too, which gives you added visiblity and easier entry/exit. It looks, drives, and feels like a $20,000+ car. Toyota has raised the bar for this class of car.Pros: exterior looks
Cons: POOR TIRES , HORRIBLE TIRES THAT COME ON THIS CAR
Advice: Drive this car a lot -- BEFORE BUYING preferably on a windy day (this car wanders all over)
Before buying, excellent driving .. After purchasing, horrible tires make this a poor handling car.. I live in the flat Midwest and on a windy day, this car BLOWS .... you all over the road.. If you are over 6 foot with decent size legs, do not buy this car.. I am 6 foot 2 with decent size legs and it is cramped .. especially by the foot pedal..Pros: interior space
Cons: the non adjustable seat bottoms
Advice: drive the CE for a day and see if you have to go to the chiropractor
this is a super car and the most car for the money out there. i like everything about the car except for the non adjustable seat bottoms that come on the CE model-buyer beware! they are almost horizontal. to get the thigh and butt height adjustment, you have to go with the S or LE model. i had a backache for 3 weeks. aside from that the car is nearly flawless. 40 MPG, amazing interior space, next to silent highway driving, zippy performance. also-the base stereo sound system leaves much to be desired.Pros: Love the in dash tempature gauge
Cons: Cramped behind drivers seat with taller driver
Advice: Drive the standard before choosing automatic
Very smooth ride and steering makes driving this car a pleasure. Very zippy and doesn't compromise fuel economy. Alittle cramped for a taller person in the drivers seat but still fits everyone comfortably. Good braking and very resonsive steering.Pros: Lots of room to store things
Cons: The design below the music system. It looks very flat.
Advice: You will never regret buying a corolla. Better than Civic.
I test drove the Honda Civic and the Nissan Sentra. This was class apart. Besides you get the value for mony over the honda civic because you get the higher horsepower over the Honda civic for the same amount of money. Also the ride is much smoother and close to the ground unlike Honda civic. Feel better control of the drive. The smoothness is amazing. It can never be beaten by a civic. The interior is much better and the controls are excellently placed. Civic looks very empty from inside. Corolla anytime anyday.Pros: Sits high so you don't feel dwarfed by all of the SUVs on the road
Cons: Not alot of leg room in the front seat - not good for tall people
Advice: Get the S - the upgraded appearance is worth the extra money
I am very pleased with this car. I bought it new and have driven it for about 4500 miles. It is very comfortable, sits high (which is nice if you are short), drives smoothly, feels sturdy. I like the look of the car - it doesn't look cheaply made though it is less expensive. Everyone who has ridden in this car has commented about how nice it is.
