Pros: almsot everything
Cons: the compartment inside that broke
Advice: Buy one :)I bought this car brand new in 04 and am still loving it. It now has 80,000 miles on it and I have no complaints except for one of the compartments inside that broke loose. No regrets at all.
Pros: mpg and handling
Cons: very noisy ride
Advice: When you test drive be sure to take it on the interstate. Let someone else drive while you try out each passenger position. My main problem since I purchased my '04 Corolla is the door seal on the front passenger side. It's almost unbearable to sit in the front passenger seat when you go over 50mph. It sounds like you are in a wind tunnel. After the third time to the dealer with this problem I gave up. They said it was normal car noise. There is also some kind of gunk that appears every once in a while under the hood - actually coming out of the holes in the underneath of the hood. We've had it cleaned by the dealer and the paperwork stated, with no other explanation, that it would probably happen again.
Advice: Don't buy itWe have had this vehicle for 15 months and it has given us nothing but problems. Since the first two weeks we have had to change the front brakes, the rad cap 3 times due to an antifreeze smell. The dealership keeps chaging cap but I think there are other issues. We had to have the electonis computer module changed because of excessive RPM revving. Have contacted Toyota to replace vehicle, both the dealership and Toyota ignore requests and just give abunch of lip service. In my opinion the car company is garbage. Will never purchase another Toyota.
Pros: Very quick pick up speed and immediate braking
Cons: The radio controls can be a little awkward initally
Advice: Go for all the safety features. It wont raise the price very much, but it could save your life.I purchased a 2004 Corolla S when it first came out (in 2003). The car was incredible- it handled very well, had great features, looked amazing. My Corolla was hit about 2 months ago when someone ran a red light and the safety features saved my life. I now have a 2005 Corolla S which I love just as much. The Corolla is a great car, I have been very impressed.
Pros: The big car feel.
Cons: The hubcaps.
Advice: Get the alloy wheels and side airbags/anti-lock brakes. This car is definately worth every penny contrary to the discruntled person who should have just bought a Honda if that's what she wanted to begin with. Don't be fooled by the small apearance for it is quit roomy. My Corolla now has over 30k miles and the only time it has visited the shop is for oil changes. When driven mostly in the city it gets around 25.5 miles per gallon and freeway (when my wife drives) it gets up to 40 mpg. If you blind fold someone and sit them in this car they will never guess it is a Corolla. The build quiality is great if you can overlook the service department at you dealer. Have your services performed at Oil Changers or even Wal-Mart. When my new Corolla went in for the free oil change they offer it left with a sqeeky seat and broken cover on the selector which was denied but repaired under warranty. I recommend this car to anyone considering a small sedan. Personally, I would purchase another but my family is growing and now I am considering the 05 Toyota Sienna.
Pros: cassette player to listen to books on tape. difficult to find cd books a library
