Pros: Great on gas
Advice: Get ready to fall in love.Actually purchased a Camry and really like it great on gas, first road trip got 565 miles on one tank of gas.
Pros: CD/Cassette/Radio Sound
Cons: Brakes give the feeling of not wanting to come to a complete stop.
Advice: Love it as much as I do! Although I'm having a bit of a problem with the weekend Service Mgr...All Toyota Personnel have been terrific to work with!Test drove a 6-cyl. Avalon and, whoa!, it was too fast (after previously owning a Honda Accord). Then drove the 4 cylindar Camry which was very smooth, plenty fast enough, and had better control. I Bought it! Then...got my first EVER speeding ticket (at 52 years of age) while driving home from the dealership...clocked driving 67 in a 55! Where was that donut shop when needed? Very quiet, smooth, comfortable seats, and great leg room for this 5'10' lady. Love the sound system! I Just LOVE this car!
Cons: IT GET DIRTY FAST
Advice: IT'S ONE OF THE BEST CAR THAT I HAD.WILL I HAVE A CAMRY 1998 LE, IT'S RUN VERY WELL. I KEPT THE MAINTANCE UPDATE CHANGE OIL ON REGULARILY. I WANT TO UPDATE MY CAR TO 2002 CAMRY LE. THIS VEHICEL GIVE GOOD PERFORMANCE ON EVERYTHING.
Pros: quite ride
Advice: noneGreat Car! This is the second Camary 4 cylinder LE that I am purchsing. The first was 1992 version and it's still serving my family very well. 2002, Even though the car has been enlarged size/weight wise, the new 4 cyl engine seems to have more than enough power for the car. Also the standard equiptment on the LE version seems to have everything that I need from a car. i.e. CD player, power windows, AC. I went on a road trip this past weekend, and the 3 hr drive each way was just a 3 hrs of relaxation. =) My only complaint about the 2002 camary is that: 1. trasmission seems to catch a little abruptly when accelerating from a stop. 2. breaks seems to fade right before the car comes to a complete stop. It's initial bite on the brake is great, but at low speeds it wants to continue rolling, making me break extra hard the last few feet. Is anyone else having these problems?
Pros: Smooth ride
Advice: Buy oneA perfect car. The best car that I ever owned.
Cons: Poor service
Advice: Stay away, service after the sale, at least from Elmhurst Toyota, is a real problem.Car drives and handles great - when it wants to. Have had a continuing problem with the vehicle jerking on deceleration. Toyota has a service bulletin out on the V6 that takes away most, but not all, of the problem. The rest they attribute to 'normal operation'. Aside from this, the ABS actuator and the dash had to be replaced - both after long waits for parts (8 days on the ABS actuator and 2 months on the dash). Would not recommend this vehicle based on service problems. (Am currently involved in a dispute with Toyota over the deceleration problem.)
Pros: V6 Engine - very quiet and smooth; 4 speed automatic transmission - extremely smooth; Very roomy
Advice: Have a test drive your self.Execellent car. It is a lot quieter than than all the cars that I have drived in this class. Very smooth ride. Quality is second to none.
