Pros: quite ride
Advice: noneGreat Car! This is the second Camary 4 cylinder LE that I am purchsing. The first was 1992 version and it's still serving my family very well. 2002, Even though the car has been enlarged size/weight wise, the new 4 cyl engine seems to have more than enough power for the car. Also the standard equiptment on the LE version seems to have everything that I need from a car. i.e. CD player, power windows, AC. I went on a road trip this past weekend, and the 3 hr drive each way was just a 3 hrs of relaxation. =) My only complaint about the 2002 camary is that: 1. trasmission seems to catch a little abruptly when accelerating from a stop. 2. breaks seems to fade right before the car comes to a complete stop. It's initial bite on the brake is great, but at low speeds it wants to continue rolling, making me break extra hard the last few feet. Is anyone else having these problems?
Pros: Smooth ride
Advice: Buy oneA perfect car. The best car that I ever owned.
Cons: Poor service
Advice: Stay away, service after the sale, at least from Elmhurst Toyota, is a real problem.Car drives and handles great - when it wants to. Have had a continuing problem with the vehicle jerking on deceleration. Toyota has a service bulletin out on the V6 that takes away most, but not all, of the problem. The rest they attribute to 'normal operation'. Aside from this, the ABS actuator and the dash had to be replaced - both after long waits for parts (8 days on the ABS actuator and 2 months on the dash). Would not recommend this vehicle based on service problems. (Am currently involved in a dispute with Toyota over the deceleration problem.)
Pros: V6 Engine - very quiet and smooth; 4 speed automatic transmission - extremely smooth; Very roomy
Advice: Have a test drive your self.Execellent car. It is a lot quieter than than all the cars that I have drived in this class. Very smooth ride. Quality is second to none.
Pros: Trip computer
Cons: Transmission will delay shift (higher rpms) into high 3 & 4 gears until it has warmed up. Takes only a few minutes.
Advice: Autofair of Manchester NH has prices are $200 over invoiceThe ride is extremly smooth on highways and secondary roads. On snow, icy roads the car handled very well. The skid and traction control gave an additional feeling of security. The climate control works very well. The side vents are always on. There is plenty of room for my family of 4 adults. I wanted the six cylinder because of vacation travel including a lot of highway driving. So far I am getting 25 mpg with about 2000 miles on the car on regular gas.
Pros: Toyotas reputation for qaulity cars.
Cons: Radio volume control a little hard for us with larger fingers.
Advice: Drive and compare, it does all the speaking for itself. The new styling originally won us over. When we test drove it, I was impressed with the power from the four cylinder. The standard equipment was impressive also. When the salesman explained all the safety features on this car we were sold. Hardest part was picking the color (Black walnut pearl).
Pros: I love the GPS Navigation and heated seats.
Cons: No multi-disc CD changer.
Advice: Buy itMy Wife and I recently bought a 2002 XLE V6 with all the bells and whistles, it's like being a kid in a candy store! The car is exceptionally quiet and very very comfortable! I recently had a 6'+ passenger in the back seat and he commented on the leg room and comfort. Plenty of power too! If I could only pry the steering wheel from her hands long enough so I could drive it!
