Toyota To Start Exporting The Yaris From France
Expects To Send Roughly 25,000 Vehicles To North America
Here is a bit of a surprise coming from Toyota. The company announced last week that its Toyota Motor Manufacturing France facility in Onnaing, France would begin building Yaris models for North America – specifically, the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. This marks the first time Toyota has exported vehicles from Europe to North America.
“The additional export market is yet another evidence of the success enjoyed by Toyota’s manufacturing operations in France,” said Toyota Motor Europe President and CEO Didier Leroy.
The company expects to export 25,000 Yaris models to North America each year. To handle this extra production, Toyota Motor Manufacturing France has invested ten million Euros into the facility.
