Toyota Builds Their Millionth Pickup In Texas

It only took seven years for Toyota's San Antonio, Texas truck plant to reach a major milestone this past week. The plant produced its one millionth pickup, a 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition Crew Cab finished in a Sunset Bronze Mica paint color.

“We are grateful for our loyal customers across North America who tell us they love driving Texas-built Tacomas and Tundras. It makes me incredibly proud of our team members and 21 on-site suppliers every time I see one of our trucks on the road knowing that safety and quality are built into every one of them,” said Chris Nielsen, president of Toyota Texas in a statement.

Toyota is the only automaker to have a truck plant in the world's largest truck market, Texas. The plant opened in late 2006 and began building the Tundra full-size pickup. In the summer of 2010, Toyota added the Tacoma mid-size truck to the facility.
