Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Low cost with all the add-ins.
Cons: Maintenance Problems 2nd day after purchase.
Advice: Read all current reviews and test drive it more than once before you buy.Excellent price. Fully loaded adj/seat. Nice radio/cd. Quiet. Smooth ride. Sharp Looking. Vary cold A/C. I bought the car new on Wednesday. It started and ran great. The next morning it wouldn't start. Once it cranks up it goes find all the day. Just when it sits overnight. Taking in for repairs already.
Pros: Standard convenience features except the lack of cruise control.
Cons: Rolling backwards down a hill in a powerless vehicle.
Advice: Buy any other car. Do not buy a Forenza.Proceeding up a bridge in my 2005 Suzuki Forenza S, the engine died taking out the power steering and brakes. The Forenza began to roll backwards into oncoming and merging traffic in a two-lane construction area. I was able to avoid a serious multi-car accident with quick use of the emergency brake. The dealer wasn't immediately sure what went wrong and contacted Suzuki Tech Support. Sight unseen, they were told to order a list of parts including water pump, timing belt and complete head assembly. Suzuki denied the frequent occurrence of this failure, but knew the exact parts to replace? The water pump pulley had been installed backwards, allowing the timing belt to skip. This vehicle had 9769 miles and I had owned it less than six months when this happened. After 15 days in the shop, the dealership returned the vehicle to me with a 're-manufactured' cylinder head. Kathy, an American Suzuki Motor Corporation customer service representative said to read my warranty book... that this is an acceptable practice... I bought a new car, I expect it to safely and reliably get me from point 'A' to point 'B', and should it require warranty repair for extensive engine damage, I demand the use of new parts. I had one representative from Suzuki, Jeff, return my call and promised a call back Monday, March 6, 2006. He called two weeks later and followed up with a letter stating that the vehicle is “operating as designed” and that Suzuki would be of no further assistance in this matter. I have since contacted an attorney. Please contact me if you have had a similar problem with a Reno or Forenza.
Pros: The standard 8 speaker sound system
Cons: Wheel Covers are not attractive
Advice: Great car for the moneyI drive this car at 80 plus most of the time and it holds the road every bit as goos as my Toyota Camry. I took a risk when I bought my Forenza but I was banking on the fact that it's a Japanese car and my experience with Japanese cars has been nothing short of excellent. The acceleration is quite exceptional and it has no trouble cruising at 80 mph and faster.
Pros: good on gas
Cons: Car jolts bad and suspension
Advice: If you buy this car, get a extended warrenty. You'll need it.Bought this car and have found that car jolts like something is the matter with the trans. Also when you go over bumps, the struts make noise bad like they are worn. The grinding noise is terrible. Nice looking car, and good on gas milage, but needs inprovements on suspension and the trans.
Pros: Steering wheel audio control
Cons: Fuel economy
Advice: If you like itI compared many cars in the net and then go to dealers for test driving. At the first look of Forenza Wagon EX, I said to myself, THIS IS MY CAR! Equiped with so many features I liked. Though a compact car, it has 4-wheel disc brakes, side-impact airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, 8 speakers cassette/CD stereo with steering wheel control, sunroof, alloy wheels, remote keyless entry and fog lamps, 61.8 cu.ft. cago volume, and leather-trimmed!
Pros: the cd player
Advice: it's an excellent car for a first time buyerI didn't need a test drive, I read some of these reviews and I just knew I had to get one and I did. This is the first car I bought for myself and I'm very happy with it.
Pros: rear wiper
Cons: i gave up remote keyless entry and cruise control
Advice: i bought inpulsively..don't do that . look it over really wellDrives very nicely, tight steering , great braking .very responsive. However, today in the rain when I needed to go from stopped to go ,it seemed the wheels didn't ' grab ' the road as I would have expected from new wheels on a new car.The wheels spun and I wasn't pressing the gas that much, on my way to school with the kids. As far as driving ving performance, that is my only complaint so far, with a week under my belt with the new forenza wagon.
