Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The radio steering wheel controls
Cons: The performance of the vehicle
Advice: Buyer Beware
I have a 2004 Verona also. I would NEVER purchase a suzuki again!! 1 month after I purchased it the head went bad. A few months after that we replaced the computer. We have since replaced the air intake 3 times, the lower half of the engine block, the heating hose, an oxygen sensor and now my emergency brake light comes on every now and then and I don't even use the brake! I have also had it stall in the middle of intersections and was told by the mechanic that nothing was wrong with it the first 2 times we took it in. For a 6 cylinder I don't think it has great pick up either. Overall my rating is poor!!Pros: It was a great looking car.
Cons: The transmission, the gas mileage, the whole performance was a joke.
Advice: BUYERS BEWARE!!! THIS IS NOT A GOOD CAR, EVEN THE SUZUKI MECHANICS TOLD US SO.
I could write a book about my horrible experiences with my 2004 Suzuki Verona. I have also owned Hondas before and now I know why I went back. In a synopsis of my problems in a BRAND NEW FIRST TIME OWNER Verona: the heating hose was bad and hot air came in all the time, rattling in the back of the car due to non tighten bolts, a loud clunk every time I stopped or turned; ended up replacing the lower arm controls and bushings-in a brand new car, radio steering wheel controls were wired wrong, gas mileage was horrible, and the number one thing to go wrong.. car would die in the middle of traffic, and when I put my foot on the gas pedal it did nothing. I had it in over 6 times and they said they fixed it each time, the ECU that is. I finally had enough and went to the Attorney General of Washington, filed a complaint against Suzuki and they bought my car back from me. I am now a proud owner of a 2005 Honda Civic. Love that car. So for those of you having issues, there still is hope. File a complaint and make sure you document EVERYTHING. Good Luck!!Pros: 4doors
Cons: nothing
Advice: keep buying
fell its the best buyPros: the warranty the smooth ride and the heated seats.
Cons: The fact that people that do not know how to drive give the car bad reviews.
Advice: Do not listen to anyone about the car stalling- I own mine since 10/03 it never stalled or hesitated once.
All I can say is that you must look and test drive this car. It has a very smooth ride. Compare the stats to the E-class, Side by side same exact size. No other car on the road compares in this price range and above.Pros: stying
Cons: transmission, overall performance
Advice: Wait a few seasons
I own a Suzuki Esteem wagon which is a great car for the money. I bought the Verona for my wife. We both like the looks but thats about it. I should have looked around more.Pros: Interior appearance
Cons: engine performance and service support from manufacturer. Auto loses almost 40% of its value in first year on trade-in.
Advice: Wait a few years and see if this vehicle will hold up
Lacks the necessary power to compete with the other vehicles in similar market. The I6 runs like a weak 4-cylinder. Numerous problems with correcting the computer system and vehicle has a tendency to lose power and stall. Suzuki has attempted to repair vehicle 6 times to no avail. Interior and exterior are nicely done and offers a luxury appearance for the price but the leather has a cheap feel, more like vinyl. Hopefully, Suzuki will work out the bugs before releasing the 2005 but that does not appear to be the case. The EX model is okay for the price but the lack of power and passing ability on highways is a disappointment. Excessive depreciation after 1st year as compared to other vehicles in a similar class.
