Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The 'LOOK' of it. Not like every other car that looks the same.
Cons: Engine noise?I don't know what they're talking about, I don't have any engine noise.
Advice: This car is a great deal for the money with standard 'Options' that you'd have to pay extra for in other vehicles.Great Warranty too. This is a 'FUN' car to drive. It handles great, accelerates quickly for passing other cars,is great on gas and roomy inside.Rides smooth on the open road even at 70. Standard features include 6 cd/mp3 player, cruise control, air, all power, air bags and lots of other goodies. Seats are comfortable and I like the steering wheel controls for radio. Was comparing it to a Matrix and Vibe and it came out ahead not only in standard features but price too.PLUS,You can't beat the warranty. I like the look of it and the whole package.(free remote starter and mud flaps were thrown in too)
Pros: All the extras / Low price compared to its class
Cons: Trunk space
Advice: Get the LX ... Lots of Extras in the Package !Very Happy ... Solid Purchase! My wife noted that every other car on the road was a Honda or Toyota (including our 98 CRV)and wanted something different...Enter the Reno ...We actually was looking at the Verona but the Reno won us over with its body style and extras at a great price. We have had it almost a year and the warranty could be 200,000/20 yrs because it would not matter...it is very reliable. I find it fun to drive when she lets me behind the wheel , power is what I expected from a small 4 cylinder but the mileage on our car is better than most reports I have heard. We get 28-30 on a regular basis with mixed Hwy/city driving. The doors shut with a real quality sound and the interior trim is as good as any import you will buy. We have two teenage boys who can fit in the back with no problem. Trunk storage will be my only gripe...no room for the luggage , but it is a hatch. I would recommend this car to anyone as it brings value back to the consumer...$30,000 - $40,000 for a car? Come Now ...I am glad Suzuki came along to sober up the market :)
Pros: The amount of standard features
Cons: It should get better gas mileage
Advice: It's a great roomy car!I first discovered the Reno attending this year's auto show. I'd nearly forgotten about it until I began seriously shopping again. I prefer both a hatchback design and manual transmission, so I looked up the Scion xA, the VW Golf, the Ford Focus, and the Reno. After test driving all 4, I realized what a hidden treasure the Reno is. Loaded with standard features, including side airbags, the Reno offers a more sophisticated ride than the Xa, and is priced much lower than a comparably equipped Golf or Focus. It is extremely fun to drive, quite zippy around the city, smooth and quiet on the highway! The European inspired design is great.
Pros: All-wheel drive
Cons: The fact the car fell apart as soon as I left the Lot
Advice: Don't buy oneLiked the pricing for all the features. Has good power and unique styling. Unfortunately in the first 6 months I had a front sway bar bushing pop out 4 times, had viscous coupling replaced for all wheel drive, had new tires installed because they destroyed due to another factory defect, had passenger door lock replaced because it failed, and still have outstanding issues....
Pros: interior lighting (amber)
Cons: I had to replace the front brakes twice within the year (I purchased the vehicle in 12/2004). The first time I replaced the brakes was 6 months after I purchased the car. The second time was in December of 2005
Advice: Research the car thoroughly before you decide to buy. Find out about the durability of the brake systemTest drive was very good. I liked the interior dash lighting and the high seating in the back. The space in the rear for outdoors activities, like fishing and picnicing
Cons: Road noise
Advice: Do test drive the ScionI have driven just over 1700 miles and have enjoyed just how much the car handles and accelerates. Would like to see the road noise deminished and rear disk brakes added. Great gas mileage so far around 29-30 Hwy/City driving.
Cons: Engine noise, road noise
Advice: Go for the works, get the SXAerio SX AWD: I've put 6K miles on my 2005 Aerio in 3 months. This is the first car I've bought that I haven't had to take back to the dealer for anything! Well equipped, handles, rides, brakes well. Noise, Vibration, and Harshness doesn't rate up to other Japanese cars but it's performance and utility have won my heart. Great warranty, everything works very well on this car.
